dangermousie: (Capital Scandal: height difference)
I totally cheated and watched the ending of The Outsiders 2. And of one portion of it I approve incredibly much. It certainly makes me happier than the ending of The Outiders. I know the ending of TO is not only inevitable but damn near perfect as far as drama endings go, but what can I do, I am a crazed shipper! Plus, this one is unlikely to make me bawl like a three-year-old who's just been told Santa does not exist.

SQUEE:

Oh, Yu Yen! It's just as well that you believe this now. Considering the misery that happens in second half of TO (which continues where TO2 left off).

Also, from a writing perspective, I love how Yu Yen's ending narration in TO2 contrasts with Danzi's ending narration in TO where he is wondering if Ah Hao and Yu Yen's love really was worth everything: whether the memories were worth all the pain.

Leaving aside the fact that at the end of TO more things happened that at the end of TO2, I really think it's because Danzi is a more objective narrator, an observer, not a participant in the love story: I bet even at the end of TO Yu Yen would say it was worth it, and never let herself doubt it, if for no other reason than to say it wasn't would negate all the pain and sacrifice she went through and that would mean it was all meaningless. And of course small spoiler for ending of TO ) But objectively speaking...I have never been able to decide whether it was worth it or not, for either of them. If I am being hard-headed, probably not.

Oh, I love you, dramas!

Oh, Dylan Kuo/Ady An RPShippers, you fail me! You fail me so bad! It’s not enough that the only way I could get The Outsiders and The Outsiders 2 subbed was to request lainemma, but now I find out that they were in another drama together, White Robe of Love of which only 3 eps are subbed.

Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?

I mean, that drama sounds like it has the cast of my dreams: Dylan/Ady as the OTP, Michael Zheng (Ah Qi in The Outsiders) as the third main character who is a brilliant doctor. And Megan Lai, whom I adore, and who usually makes her living as ‘the girl who loves Vic Zhou in vain’ actually playing the fourth main character and Michael’s love interest. GRRRR.

Plus, the plot, the plot is so full of crack! Apparently Michael is childhood friends with Ady and they believe they are going to get married one day. But then she meets Dylan and they fall into mad love, clearly not having seen The Outsiders and thus not realizing that this sort of thing leads to doooooooooom. Did I mention that Michael and Dylan are BFFs? Ha! And then Ady gets some sort of a disease and the only way to treat it is an experimental procedure and despite everyone being against it, Michael performs it and Ady ends up in a coma! Double ha! And Michael vanishes but comes back 4 years later and ends up working with Dylan (who hates him) and falling for a lady reporter (Megan) blahblahblah.

And then (this is where I really sat up and took notice, I am so predictable), Ady wakes up from her coma but she doesn’t remember Dylan at all (who still loves her) but falls in love with him all over again and then he dies in her arms (no idea why, other than he is too hot to live) just as she remembers him. Or something.

LOL. I must watch! It sounds so deliciously cheesy!

Don’t even get me started on the fact that Stealing Day isn’t subbed at all. Argh! I want to see crooks falling for other crooks who are out to get revenge on them, and happily ever afters.

You know, it's like amazing, that we silly women have still not become extinct. But thank God for big strong men who are awesome and not like us because they, like, can walk without tripping. Oh, and Oh my Gawd, Edward is like so hot and like won't want to make out with you like icky uncute rapists.

Yup, saw world's most unsubtle metaphor for sexual abstinence, aka Twilight. Heeee! [livejournal.com profile] filmi_girl and I went to see it tonight and had a blast. We talked and laughed through the whole movie (we sat by ourselves so weren't bugging anyone) and it was glorious. The whole audience was laughing throughout however.

Bella Sue (whom everyone falls in love with on sight) is even more blank on screen than on page - she is a total affectless robotic blank with no personality. I bet Edward cannot read her thoughts because she has none. Edward is not exactly a charmer either, but at least he has a personality. An awkward, dweeby one, but still...

Oh, and yup, he does sparkle. Looking like a cheap gigolo.

This movie is love. I could go on and on and on but [livejournal.com profile] filmi_girl and I already spent hours mocking it.

P.S. I will never believe Edward is straight. Not with that much product in his hair and with his phobia of sex. But I feel horrible for him, being stuck with a blank robot girl for all eternity. Poor thing.
