I am watching the 1970s Bollywood classic smash hit Bobby, the progenitor of all the rich neglected boy, starved of love by his distant shallow family, falls in love with poor, warm-hearted girl from a loving family, and angst ensues stories Bollywood has done ever since.

Yes, there are cheesy bits (and the 1970s fashions are...heeee), but there is just such spontaneous, disarming freshness about it: just the way they interact has this real feeling about it: the way Bobby (the heroine's nickname) is clearly telegraphing her youth while trying to seem worldly, and the way Raj is so simply, uncomplicatedly taken with this pretty girl and giddy with it. And then there is the mutual and so new power of knowing that the other likes you, and he/she is cute and you are attracted and this is all so new...

It really helps that both Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia, who became megastars with this film (it was the first movie for both of them I think, though Rishi might have been in one flick as a kid) are teenangers themselves and have crazy chemistry to boot. Plus, love the soundtrack!

(Or at least seriously in the running) is Aishwarya Rai, a Bollywood superstar, and the star of the upcoming Hollywood sword-and-sandals epic (opposite Colin Firth, no less), "The Last Legion."

If you are not a Bollywood afficionado, you might have seen her in Bride & Prejudice or on talk shows. Neither has done her justice, look-wise. For one, she gained 20 pounds for B&P, and for another, she looks much better in traditional Indian clothes. And she looks the best in the movies of Sanjay Leela Bhansali (a noted Bollywood director, whose muse Aishwarya was for a time, and who directed the mega-blockbusters "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" and "Devdas" with her).

Behind the cut are some gorgeous pictures. I am a straight girl, but damn!

Title: Pharmacopeia
Fandom: Veronica Mars
Word Count: 1111
Characters: Logan, shades of V/L
Spoilers: Through 2.01
Summary: The drugs are making him space out, float away almost, to a place of smeared colors and cotton wool. He thinks he now knows why his mother liked them so much: everyday made bearable, in a tiny plastic bottle. Only he is getting high-class treatment, IV straight to the veins.
Author's Note: I really wanted to try to write a woozy stream of consiousness. This is Logan's, after Leo takes him away in the beginning of NITW, as I am sure the boy would end up in a hospital to get treated for PCH-inflicted injuries. Do feedback, because I am a feedback whore...
