Aug. 13th, 2011 05:56 pmIt's so funny - when I started Family Honor, I enjoyed it but I couldn't understand why flisties were so rabid about it and what they were on with their Kang Suk love or adoration of the OTP.
Mea culpa mea culpa mea culpa.
This drama is sooooooooooooo good.
If I had just randomly watched this scene out of sequence, I would have gone 'so what?' but I was almost crying here, when Dan Ah finally put on that hiking jacket because of the hugeness of what it means! She always freezes in the winter because she is refusing to put on a coat because her husband is cold in the ground and so she should be too. But KS finally got her to wear it 'the man in the cold place would understand. He would not want his loved one to freeze.' But the thing is, if he (or anyone else - though, significantly, I don't think anyone has ever noticed and/or prodded to get the answer, except Kang Suk) told her that ten eps ago, she would have shrugged it off. But all her interactions with him, even though she is miles from falling in love with him, are beginning to wake her up, to find value in living - because he is so abrasive and no-nonsense and unpredictable, he is slowly dragging her towards the living.

We take time out from scheduled gorgeous dysfunction to bring us adorableness. They have a huge age difference (close to 20 yrs, right?) but they so fit together - he's so gentle and oddly innocent and she's in need of protection but also fun and plucky.

The scene at the top of the mountain when she thanks him for bringing her on a hike because she thought she'd never hike again - she gave up actually fighting for her life and settled for existing but now she wants to give it her best effort again - I love love love love love - she's slowly thawing out of her guilt/grief prison.

Only Kang Suk could make the offer to carry her down the whole way a really hard mountain path because she's hurt sound not romantic but practical and a challenge to her. And that is why she is comfortable to let him do it - no way is she ready to be wooed. And he is thoroughly confused if he wants to be wooing (he does, but he's trying to fight it so hard).

KS: Maybe...If we'd met on a blind date or something, would things have been different? Every so often, I just wonder where we are going. What's at the end of the road we've taken...Why are you so quiet?
DA: I am only thinking about one thing. 'Don't believe a word he says.'
Oh, Kang Suk you dug your own grave with what you told her when you started your 'deal.' It's going to make you weep tears of blood one of these days.

Have a MV:
ETA: OMG, the scar from the car wreck on Dan Ah's leg is huge and looks horrible! Eeeek! She says a skin graft won't make it look better and I don't think she's lying but I think it's crazy disturbing that she adds she'd want to keep it anyway for the rest of her life. It's official, every character in this needs decades of therapy.
I might need it too because all I am fantasizing about now is for KS to find out about her scar and kiss it all over. OK, send help.
ETA2: I kind of forgot that the Lee family is planning to steal Ha family's business. Ummm. Yeah. Whatever chances KS might have with DA would certainly revert to forever zero if he bankrupts her family. Sure, KS warned the Ha family patriarch that he's unscrupulous in business but I don't think that's going to get him off the hook with DA. Oooooh, this is going to be good! (Also, honestly, I wish Lee Papa instilled some ethics instead of trying to push his son into evilness. Really. Morals are worth it, old guy!)
