The many jealous faces of Mugyul:

I'll be honest with you. After ep 10 of MSOAN, I was this close to giving up on the drama. It was a chore to sit through it, the story was going nowhere, and the M&M moments were scarce.

However, I am glad flisties told me to keep up with ep 11. New Writer, ILY!!! The plot still makes no sense (if possible, it makes even less sense) but that's a given with MSOAN. However, the story now moves - it progresses, it has pace. Jung In has been given a personality, annoying characters (parents, Joon) have been minimized, and M&M get the lion's share of screentime which is what is needed to make this drama work (also, their misunderstandings don't drag out as in ep 10). It's funny again and heart-tugging again.

Plus, plot insanity or not, I could never hate an episode

This just might be my favorite scene in the whole drama, even more than the window airplanes. Because he went to the rink, where his bitch mother abandoned him, and you can tell he's feeling like crap even wearing Maeri's sweater, and then Maeri shows up. She came for him, remembering what he said about wanting to wear the sweater she made and go to the rink, even though it's after they had a fight. Because that is what family does, that is what people who love each other do - they stick with each other no matter what - fights may come and go but you stick by the other person. I love that she came for him - it should totally erase the time his bitch mother didn't. Just - the grin on his face makes my heart melt. Maybe it's because I am a Mom myself.

I really think he's slowly letting go of his desire for his mother to love him. In part because he now has someone who does love him and does care for him.

I know I owe everyone replies. I promise to get to them asap. If it makes you feel any better, I am behind on my three dramas (MSOAN, SG and Gloria) too.

Have you seen this BTS video where JGS suggests Mugyul have a sexual preference change by the end and KJW asks if they can have this father stabbed in episode 15.

When even your leads understand the insanity they are acting out, and suggests something even crazier, somehow it doesn't seem so improbable after all.

JI-MG's chemistry is through the roof in ep12 actually. Hee, sometimes it really does feel like they are secretly totally digging each other. Doesn't hurt they are both too pretty for words.

And that scene ohmygosh adorable. The paper airplane scene was also an absolute favourite of mine but it has since been demoted to second place. The expression on Mugyul's face when Maeri (how adorable was her jacket?) came and the utter sweetness made me all squashy and warm inside. And to think that I was this close of getting bored with the show.

New writer and I have high hopes for the remaining episodes, but after reading Ockoala's episode 13 preview, I'm seriously hoping that they're going to skip the amnesia plot thing. That is the one drama cliche I absolutely cannot stand.

Would that not be the best ending to this wacky show. Maeri can still use them on the weekends though.

I love amnesia plot but in very different dramas (hint - not romcoms). This would be a bit much for this one especially it's not as if they'd have time to deal with it properly.

Oh, the look on his face when he saw her!

I get the chemistry too.

I think a threesome is in order - they are all cohabiting already anyway.

God, new writer is so much better.

Really I don't get the hate for this show at all. The actors seem to be enjoying it. We're enjoying it. The plot isn't at all taking itself seriously or trying to be pretentious and the show is made of 150 percent fun with a healthy dose of crazy.

God the chemistry. And scenes with Jung In and Mugyul involves so much manly brooding and intense eye-fucking that I can't even think straight anymore. Any time Jung In looks at Mugyul I'm expecting him to jump his pants at any given time.

I love this show so much.

Everyone at my blog is reading wayyyyy too much into it and screeching about amnesia. I think either MG or MR gets mildy injured, if anything. But this just reveals their affection in public again, is all. Likely causing devil daddy to have a brain hernia and croak right there. One can hope.

Amnesia usually only happens early or mid-way so they resolve it. It's way too late in the drama for amnesia, esp where there is a shitload of unresolved crap they need to address. My guess - no amnesia, or life threatening injury.

As usual, the previews like to heighten the tension.

Well, BOF gave us amnesia is next-to-last ep but then it was written by an escapee from a lunatic asylum (also, I maintain that if it wasn't for the threat of mangaka kicking her ass seven ways to Sunday, the scriptwriter so would have had Jandi end up with Jihoo sunbae).

I don't get the hate either. Sure, it's not a deep show, but it doesn't pretend to be. It's a bit of cracky fluffy fun with amazing chemistry between the leads.

Yes exactly. If it were a dark conspiracy drama or something where amnesia had its place and plausible reason (like if the person got shot in the head or something) not Domyouji Tsukasa's amnesia where he literally fell from a height of approximately 2 feet.

It gets me every time.

Yes, but to be fair to poor Domyouji, his head was never his strong point :)

I didn't mind amnesia there because the resolution with him rushing to rescue her without remembering her and then the scene in the cabin, made me bawl from shippiness and joy.

Yeah, the amount of brain power to takes ppl who either don't watch it, watched it but no longer want to watch it, or are still watching it - to write reams about how its the worst Kdrama ever makes me so confused. WHY? Like I have enough time to run around telling everyone I hated X show or Y show. Shit, I barely have enough time to tell people why I like Z show.

And no, empirically and qualitatively, its not a bad drama at all, and definitely not the worst ever. Not by a long shot.

I love the MM chemistry, off the charts adorable.

Didn't Jun Pyo get amnesia about 3 episodes before the end and his totally out of the blue romance with that girl get resolved in just one episode. I haven't seen BOF in a while but from what I recall that plot line appeared and disappeared in less than 3 episodes.

But I'm not really all that worried about the amnesia thing really. Unless it's Jung In's dad that saves Maeri then get amnesia than forgets that he's a douchy creeper than wants to pawn someone elses daughter to himself. Then because Maeri's dad sees Jung In's dad saving Maeri and goes to help and gets amnesia as well then the both can go on living in blissfull ignorance forgetting that they're the worlds most humongous douchebags and take Mugyul's mom away with them.

I contend the manga was stupid in itself, and it had that stupid amnesia plot, so that had to shoe-horn it in, even when it made zero sense.

See, I think BBF and Mary, MGiaG and PK are all equally silly, nonsensical to real life plots - but it all comes down to whether you like the actors and chemistry in these instances.

I love Mary and PK, don't like BBF and MGiaG, but I think all four are pretty equal in terms of quality.

And yes, BBF was absolutely JIhoo and Jandi - this was the one time OTP switching made sense in every way. Still bitter.

I love your plot development. I think you should send a letter to the writer.

I think BBF was entertaining, if dumb, but the manga itself is brilliant because it has gradual character development (it better - it has 37 freaking volumes) and is the only time I went from wanting to stab the leading man and not being able to bear the though of him getting the heroine to believing that he would actually make heroine a decent husband and rooting for him, mainly because she made him jump through hoops and trained him and was bloody tough-minded. Of course, BOF eviscerated both main characters, so there is that... (I like Hanadan jdrama but the only adaptation my purist heart truly adores is the twdrama because it's basically 99% faithful and is the only version to make me feel these people may actually exist).

I mean, BBF made me ship JiHoo/Jandi, which if you know (a) my canon nazi-ism and (b) obsession with Dom/Makino in every incarnation, takes some doing.

LOL Good point xD Though that hairstyle should have acted like something of a cushion.

The scene of resolve is always heartwarming and perhaps I'm not that pissed off at the amnesia or at Domyouji, but at the shameless girl who had the incredible gall to take credit for Makino's Domyouji cookies D<

Gaaah that scene and the elevator scene remains among my two favourite scenes ever...now second to the skating rink scene of course.

Yes yes yes love those.

Ahhh, Umi. Diieeeeeeeeeeeee!

I think it didn't cushion because it was flatter than s1 perm (remember people mocking him for his hairdo in s2? I kept going 'where were you in s1?')

Let me put it this way - you know how picky I am about romcoms and I am actually watching and enjoying this immensely. It must be doing something right.

Also, unless the fandom annoys me (as in YAB), I may usually post 'well, this was underwhelming' post but that is about it. The amount of ink spilled bashing it is truly boggling - it's not a huge ratings hit or anything so you can't even feel wronged at its 'undeserved' success. It's a cute niche drama that doesn't pretend to be anything more than it is and has an awesome OTP to boot. Lay off.

ETA: People, before you call it worst ever, I dare you to watch My Love Patzzi. Or Kitchen Gakuin. Or twdrama take on Peach Girl. Or Ji My Sweetheart.

It's a feel good drama and that exactly the way people should take it. It's not like it's trying to be IRIS or any of those dark angst dramas.

Two people who used to be kinda but not really married to the same girl try to out romance each other in between Everest levels of UST and drawn out looks of longing. What are people expecting?

Exactly, it's not even a hit so people can pile onto 'undeserved' success. Seriously, go bash something that is more of a target, this is like picking on the anemic midget in school.
