Well, don't be fooled!
The hero of Telugu movie Cherutha witnesses his father have his throat slit by the mob, his mother brutally stabbed, and then sells himself to pay for the mother's life-saving surgery. In the first 5 minutes! Things move fast in Andhara Pradesh!
Oh, and who he sells himself to? Is a rich guy who has a kid hero's age. Said kid shot a watchman and the rich guy (with police cooperation) is paying our hero to take the rap and go to jail instead of his son. If not, Mommy Dearest dies!
You know how old the hero is? 10 years old.
OK, this isn't the first Telugu movie that has a kid go to jail for murder -it's a bizarre subtrope to have!
Anyway, this movie is most enjoyable in "this makes angsty kdrama seem cheery" kinda way.

I am taking bets on the girl being either the Mob Boss' daughter or the daughter of the rich guy who framed him. I guess I'll find out once the inevitable bloody vengeance starts.
I am basically checking this movie out because Magadheera left me with a ginormous crush on Ram Charan Teja and this was hist first movie (Magadheera being his second). We shall see!
