I don't normally condone violence to women (or anyone else) but in this scene in ep 13 I wanted Jae Bin to punch Secondary Girl out.

You know, in her own, more sophisticated way, Na Yoon (Secondary Girl) is as awful as Sun Hee's husband - both are content to not just leave a significant other (which is - things happen, whatever, even if the way Sun Hee's husband did it was atrocious) but to completely abandon their child.

She ditched her son for 14 years without as much as a birthday card or letting him know she existed, and now she waltzed back and wants him to be her son again? Not to mention that she got Jae Bin's brother to pretend the child was his (so Jae Bin would view his brother as a kind of man who'd take his brother's woman) etc.

And now she has the nerve to tell Jae Bin that they have Hoon together so he can't be with Sun Hee? I literally saw red - them having Hoon together never mattered one iota to her, not even to the extent of letting Jae Bin know Hoon was his!

And when she thinks that this, the time Jae Bin has found out he has a child she ditched and never bothered to tell him about, is a good time to ask him to get back together and 'why can't you see it from my side?' - she is FRELLING insane! And then she has the nerve to bring Sun Hee and say he doesn't want to be back together with her because of Sun Hee! WTF! Not only has she lost any right to interfere in his life, but she is psychotically deluded if she thinks it's because of Sun Hee. Yes, he loves Sun Hee now, but even if he had never laid eyes on Sun Hee - why would anyone take back a woman who ditched you 15 years back (and you haven't seen since), who made you believe your brother was the kind of man who'd steal a woman from you, and who had a child with you she never let you know about and whom she dumped on your brother because she didn't feel like raising him and made him pretend this kid is brother's. And then wants to have you back as soon as you find out.

SERIOUSLY - HAS SHE BEEN DRINKING INSANITY JUICE? What man (or woman) would take a person like that back??????

And she acts as if she is the wronged party.

DIEDIEDIEDIE.

I think this is bugging me extra hard because I have a baby myself.

Yay! I am so glad you tried! I am halfway through ep 13 and it's total love so far.

Also, how loltastic was the ad they were filming?

This will probably not douse your ire, but I was far too much in awe of Jung Joon Ho (and ridiculously in love with his awesomeness in this drama) to get upset at SG. (And while the actress never impressed me that much, she hit all the right notes in these scenes, which really helped sell them.) O-M-G, when did he become such a terrific actor? I've always had a soft spot for him, but he just blew me away here (in this scene, in this ep, in this series). And while it's difficult to pick a favorite ep. (would need a second viewing to determine that), I'll cherish ep. 13 for delivering so much anguish & torment to our hero.

I have never seen JJH in anything before but now I think I am a staunch fan - he is so ridiculously good - he can turn from goofy to dead-serious on a dime.

So far, ep 13 is my favorite too (I've only seen 13 eps though).

The thing with Secondary Girl that drives me crazy is that she seems to be of the school of "I will lie, cheat and do everything short of a felony, to get love, and then be flabbergasted it's not working" Korean drama person. I mean, dramas seem to be full of these people, all seemingly brought up on Jupiter - if someone wants to have another person as a significant other regardless of that person's feelings, they just want to 'have' them - then fine, do whatever. I might not like the goals but at least there is a means-end connection. But Secondary Girl's (and other characters like her) total puzzlement as to why a man she dumped 15 years ago and never met since, and whose child she lied to him about, won't be jumping through hoops to get her back and love her is...I mean, has she tried medication?

*sorry, went off on a want again :D*

I can't wait to see JJH in IRIS. Oh, I am so excited for that drama.

I don't want to sound like all I see is JJH in LS, but to be honest, that's what it feels like--every ep., I'm just mouth agape at him. I'd only seen him in that married-to-the-mob movie with Kim Jung Eun, years & years ago, which might have prepared me for what he's like in ep. 1 but certainly nothing thereafter.

And in this case, we have Choi Jin Shil to thank for. She pursued JJH for LS, when he wasn't sold yet nor keen on a TV drama, and would boost his morale earlier in the series when it was struggling in the ratings.

Hmm, I look forward to your reactions to eps. 14 & 15. :) I completely hear you. It's just that SG here feels like more a plot device than a real character to me (though the actress shares some effective scenes here & there with the brothers, Sunhee, even Hoon). I mean, it's bad, when Sunhee's pathetic, loser, low-life ex-husband seems 'more real.' So while you were probably steaming at SG in said scene in ep. 13, I was just ga-ga over JJH as usual, mouth agape at each frame.

He is so very good - I went from being amused by the character to being wildly invested because he makes him so very real - when he hurts I just want to make it all better. I am so glad CJS got him to sign up.

I agree that SG doesn't feel real - or let me be a little bit more precise - she is real enough but her character is very uninteresting - she is selfish and self-absorbed. The end. Actually, LS seems to be a rare drama where the 'other wheels' in a drama are completely, totally secondary or even tertiary to the OTP - in part because of the drama focus being so much more on the otp but in part because CJS and JJH blow them out of the water.
