Oh MAN. Perect timing. I've gotten interested in a show, just in time for a strike.

I think I've been persuaded to watch Moonlight. The vampire detective, who falls for a human, seems to be the selling point.

Even if Forever Knight, Buffy and Angel have already done this, I am such an easy sell. Just check this one for why. Angst, UST, super hotness, co-ed showers:

Ahahah. As far as (currently airing) vampires and detectives go, I find myself much more drawn to Blood Ties--ex-cop-turned-PI with Issues solves supernatural crime with her former partner on the force and the vampiric bastard son of Henry VIII, now moonlighting as a comic artist. :D Most of the online fans' love seems to be for Vicki and Henry (the vampire), and they are indeed pretty hot:

But Mike, the other leg of the (main) triangle, is also pretty hot in very different ways, personality- and chemistry-wise. XD

Admittedly, I was a fan of the books first, so I'm a little biased. :) (Plus, all the episodes for the first full season are already in the can, they're just waiting to be aired~) But UST? Check. Hot actors? Oh god check. Amusing dialogue and cheese, with just enough drama and pathos at the right times? Check. People getting hurt and comforted? Oh yes.

I looooove me some Blood Ties. Production values poorer than Moonlight, but the character writing is much sharper. However I like both.

And there's the factor that Moonlight is basically one big triangle where she is deeply connected to both the guys. Which is fine with me because I actually like triangles such as this where no one guy is written as the bad guy.

On top of it, I just adore that in real life she is much older than one of her love interests (like 10 years or so?) and it's exactly no issue at all (well on screen it's not anyway, because he's a vampire) and they just sparkle.

Hahaha, oh yes. I definitely do not watch it for the special effects or the fight scenes. The main three have /such/ chemistry together, though--even the two male leads. I love that they're slowly starting to accept the presence of each other in Vicki's life, even if they're not quite happy with it. But yeah, both of them are written deeply and believably enough that you can see Vicki ending up with either of them. (I know who I prefer, but that's mostly because of how the books go.)

I hate you, you realize this? I now need to watch this! Must.

Two vampie shows? I am doomed :)
