1. I am sure anyone who's interested has found it by now, but in case you haven't,

So gooooood! This is providing me with new criteria for boyfriend-picking - is the guy going to be willing to gut-stab self in days before modern surgery and antibiotics to save my life? If so, he gets into my skirts. (Other criteria - please pick someone whose relatives are not homicidal in their efforts to get on the throne - that way you won't have to be in danger in the first place). You know, the more I watch JPLH in general, the more I realize how well Hanadan framework works in a period drama - it raises the stakes to life-and-death levels and makes some actions and general personalities more realistic.

2. In news of dramas other than JPLH, I am really enjoying New Tales of the Gisaeng. It's a typical family drama with a billion storylines and I skip them all except for those involving Saran and Damo (individually and together) but their story I love so much! Also, love that he's mouthy to his awful father. I hate when characters are filial to bastards.



It must be love seeing how smitten he is to see her chug :P

3. I finished Taiyou no Uta. So good. My favorite scene was this one in ep 7.





























4. Checked the ending of Otomen to make sure it ended to my liking (jdramas tend to do annoyingly open endings) and yay!






5. In case there is any doubt about which couple I ship in Dream High, guess which scene I rewatched the most in ep 9?








6. In case you can't get enough of the "woman travels through time and ends up in love triangle with future emperor Yongzheng and Yinsi (aka guys I refer to as Four and Eight in my JPLH posts), may I alert you to Bu Bu Jing Xin, coming out later this year and starring Liu Shi Shi as the time-traveller and Nicky Wu and Kevin Cheng as the princes. I love LSS, not familiar with two male leads but they seem fine enough. It's supposed to be an angsty take on all of it (to which I want to say "only in period cdrama would JPLH be considered anything but an angstfest." Heh).













My, my, Four, is that what you have under those robes? Come to Mama, Emperor!





Without knowing anything about this story's take, I rec LSS to go for future emperor. I mean, from what hollyxu told me, historical version of Eight ended up being tortured/poisoned in prison, which isn't really a great marriage prospect.

Otomen is DELIGHTFUL. I usually don't like shoujo manga live action adaptations (even when I like the original manga!) but this one is just so cute and funny and sweet.

OKAY, SO.

1. Otomen: it was so adorable. I mean, the transgender father was stereotypically portrayed, but it's Japanese television. But the ending was super cute, and I liked how the two main leads interacted. :D

2. I was watching that trailer a while back, and I was like, everyone gets shot at least once in this show, don't they?? And they don't even have guns. :P

3. As far as I know, there's a book out there with the time-travel-back-to-4th+8th's-time thing, so the two adaptations don't exactly surprise me. LSS's version looks more artsy and hence, is probably more angsty. (Surprisingly, in cdramas, that seems to be an indicator of tears, death and doom.)

I really am surprised that no one's making a drama about #14, who was, well, screwed over, to put it lightly.

4. AAAAAAAHHH GISAENG'S PLOT IS SO SLOW. (It's more obvious, too, with JPLH running sidelong.)

1. It's as cute as the manga!

2. If this was RL, both the leads would be dead long before last ep - I mean, back then to survive the kind of wounds they got (her protecting 4 and with 8's self-inflicted fun) would be pretty darn unlikely. It would take a LOT of work to save them even now and be touch and go. It's not even a knife stab - it's a sword wound - that makes a big hole!

3. Yes - also lots of snow, just in time to artistically perish :P

I read about 14 on wikipedia. I wonder if he really was the heir :)

4. It's not slow when you skip everything but one plotline :)

talking about dream high, someone on baidu posted 'evidences' that in fact k is a girl, and not a guy like people seem to think and gave these pictures as proof:

those were my thoughts! even if sadly for some reason i think they may end up making baekhee k just so she ends up with something, but it would be awesome to have hyemi as k, samdong as her songwriter, jingook as her stage buddy and both as her lovers. ot3 lives.

..hi there..I have been a silent lurker in your LJ account now and I was convinced to try out Taiyou no Uta after reading your pimp posts.I have found an uploader of the whole series in YT but my stupid connection takes way too long to load videos in Youtube...and so can I please ask if where have you downloaded it?....I often use torrent DLs because my laptop isn't on the entire time so direct downloads are out of the equation......I hope that you can help me out with this one...thanks.......

I don't use torrents myself (I prefer ddl) but does d-addicts.com not have it? That's usually the best bet for jdrama torrents. If they don't, let me know and I'll ask on flist.

Yes it has come to this. My DH obsession has led me to watch livestream for the past two weeks nevermind that I have a freakin' exam the next day or that I have tons of backlogs with my readings.

Anyway, so I watched tonight's episode. It was so good. I loved the fact that there were a lot of performances tonight. And I love it even more because of the fact that they were singing altogether with so much camaraderie. It's refreshing to see them forget about competition and perform just in good spirits. I especially love all the BH-HM interactions. I must say that I may have left the "Die! BH! DIE!" camp after watching this episode.

As for the triangle, it went full blast in this episode. By the end of the episode, my heart got ripped apart seeing SD all brokenhearted by what he witnessed. I must say I probably root for SD more than anything in this show. I don't root for him and HM necessarily but if it goes on that path I'd be slightly happier. However, after tonight's episode I kinda feel like I completely left the ship and I'm just rooting for SD to become the biggest star evah! haha. My heart wrenched seeing him be all angsty that way and the build up towards that moment is just Gahhhh. haha. I can't even bring myself to be happy for JG-HM right now. Not just yet. I still feel too bad for SD.

SO YEAH GO SAM DONG! Go be a star!
