I checked the first episode of "Can We Get Married?" n Viki, even though it wasn't completely subbed yet, and I was pleased. I've only watched half of it, but it's been very entertaining so far. Hmmm I love the leads...
I also started watching a new Jdrama called "Piece" (apparently it's flying under many people's radars) and WOAH my mind was blown. On the first episode alone I've seen more kissing/skinship/romance than in many Jdramas combined. And the cinematography is amazing, it looks like a dreamy movie. It's based on a manga by the same author who did "Sunadokei" / Sand's Chronicles. You should definitely check it out, even if only the first episode! -- Oh, but skip the opening / intro song... it clashes with the actual tone/mood of the drama. From the synopsis it makes you think it's some kind of mystery story, but it's actually a ROMANCE through and through.
LOL. Oh, I am sure I will enjoy most of the dramas on the list, but true blue obsession, the way I had with Faith (and earlier with Gaksital) happens much less often :)
Thanks for the jdrama rec, but seeing that I never even finished RMPW which had great shippy tropes and actors I lovw, I think it's time for me to admit that jdramas just don't work for me any more...alas.
I'm still enjoying Ohlala Couple - it's so stupid but hilarious. And I can't believe they went where they went in the past few episodes. Definitely something I can say I have never seen done before and never expected.
I'm looking forward to I Miss You just for the leads. It probably won't be my cup of tea but I plan to watch it anyway. Can We Get Married sounds too cute so I plan to check it out, too. Same with Cheongdamdong Alice and possibly School.
Frankly, I'm currently obsessing over Yamapi's return to adorkableness in Monsters. It is utterly insane but so happy to see Pi in something like his old Akira persona!! :D
I was shocked enough when they did it. But to go even further? Did not see that coming at all. It's such a totally stupid drama. But I like when they break the 3rd wall & lecture the camera. I'm torn about the ending - they've made the 2nd leads so sympathetic. But the drama's main purpose seems to be lecturing that marriage is work and couples should stick it out so I don't see them parting ways at the end.
was the kang ji hwan drama rly a rumor? I thought it was p much confirmed? huh. I hope it happens either way it sounds p nuts lol. What u dont have on this list is the recently announced third installment in TvN's oh boy series! haha you know I love my flower boys. this time its yoon shi yoon as the titular flower boy. i hope he's not the only one tho since the last dramas SUFBB and Ramyun Shop had lots of pretty hehe. But I like yoon shi yoon even if imo he was horribly miscast in me too flower and that (among other reasons) was why the drama didnt work for me and I quit it early on. that said his co star is park shin hye, i'm not rly a big fan of her since the only two times i saw her in a drama (YAB and heartstrings) her character just made me feel embarrassed to death. I hope this one is different lol. Also I've been watching Full House 2, and its rly silly but I am enjoying it alot XD Its alot like YAB but less wacky and admittedly the hero has all the obnoxious traits of tae kyung and none of the sassy charm. which is....but the heroine and secondary guy (played by park ki woong!) are a vast improvement on go mi nyeo/nam and shin woo. so it evens out. hopefully the hero starts showing heroic traits or I might full on ship heroine and secondary dude and that never ends well. Not gonna rec u watch it though since its not rly ur cuppa but if your up for a silly romcom to go with your regular dose of doom and gloom thats a good place to start lol. and the episodes are blissfully short too. I have so many upcoming dramas I want to watch! and some of them are happening next year when I go back to school so I hope I can squeeze time in for them D: I'm looking forward to School remake, I LOVE woo bin and he's finally getting a starring role! (as another trickster/rebel student which he does so well XD)
omo omo where did they go? I'm hella curious. I tried the first ep and didnt like it but ppl tell me it gets funnier in the later eps so I've been debating going back but I'm curious what happened!
They try everything they can think of to switch them back. Which eventually means actually (somehow) sleeping together. And then they get pregnant. As in - husband soul in wife body is preggers. Yup - that was my reaction, too. lol
The drama I am most excited about? Yoon Shi Yoon/Park Shin Hye's upcoming Flower Boy Next Door. ♥ I read about it on Korean news sites yesterday and was waiting for something a bit more solid to come out, which it did this morning (and DB just made a post about it). I AM EXCITE. Park Shin Hye's always had a likeable and warm quality about her, Yoon Shi Yoon I've liked since his debut with High Kick and really upped the ante on his acting in Me Too, Flower, and I've liked both the Flower Boy installments so far.
I'm also interested in Jeon Woo Chi and Joo Won's Secret Agent drama, though with the latter I'm tempered by my ambivalence towards Choi Kang Hee. Oh, and Cheongdamdong Alice - Park Shi Hoo and Moon Geun Young! I still think she's a little young for him, but they could probably make it work. My main problem with that drama is actually the fact that the more I hear about the female lead - her wish to be Cinderella, dumping her boyfriend in the process, shallowness etc. - the more I dislike her. I'm going to have a hard time enjoying a drama where I am fundamentally against what the female lead is doing, so I'm hoping they tweak a few things before it airs.
You look like you will be busy with quite a few potential obsessions on that list, though. There are so many melos coming up!
No, that KJH drama is happening, but his participation in it is uncertain due to agency troubles (again?!) If he is in it, my interest goes up 500%, without him, we'll see.
I am very fond of PSH - I liked her in Heartstrings and Tree of Heaven (YAB - well, the less said about Minam, the better). YSY has a great degree of potential (though I agree, he was miscast in Flower - he was a decade too young!)
Joo Won's drama is dead to me. Did you hear for secondary guy they cast someone even younger than JW? LOLOL WTF! It all makes me think the heroine role was written for someone much younger and then either CKH wanted it and got it or they couldn't get anyone age-appropriate and went for her. WTF, WTF!
I am actually now excited for JWC - it sounds screwed up enough to appeal.
I am excited melos are coming back...
I know little about CA. I love Park Shi Hoo but MCW has the worst drama-picking skills so hmmmm
oh my bob that is hysterical! This drama has all my respect if they actually make the husband go through CHILDBIRTH just to make a (hilarious yet pertinent) point. either that or we'll get a nice message about abortion/reproductive rights but since most if not all abortion is illegal in Korea I highly doubt it lol.
LOL REALLY? Who? I've heard that the heroine was definitely written for someone younger, so now that they've casted Choi Kang Hee they've rewritten the role to suit an older woman. Clearly they didn't think far enough to change the OTHER roles, though. What baffles me is why they'd even go for CKH in the first place if she didn't suit the role - I could understand them bending the rules/script a bit in order to slot in someone with A-list oomph - say, if they managed to convince someone of Kim Tae Hee/Ha Ji Won calibre to take the role. But CKH? And here I thought there would finally be a Joo Won drama that could excite me.
My interest in JWC is sliding in proportion to the screwed up factor, LOL. I'm still in it for Cha Tae Hyun, but the UEE aspect sounds incredibly messed up. I keep wishing they cast CKH in JWC instead and UEE in Joo Won's drama - so much more age appropriate! At least UEE's role in JWC was meant for a younger girl, though.
From what I've heard of CA, MGY's character is a fashion designer who finds herself in the classy Cheongdamdong neighborhood and decides that her goal in life is now to score a rich husband and solve all her problems. Along the way she ditches her old bf - Nam Goong Min, to boot - and meets Park Shi Hoo. Not exactly someone I could identify with or even sympathize with, tbh.
Speaking of abortion - it almost happened. But he heard the heartbeat and changed his mind. Wife (in Hubby's body) was outside trying to get past his mom to stop it.
Any drama they cast CKH is dead to me, so I'd rather they didn't cast her in JWC either. (Plus, a weathered lady as a evil sorcerer's pawn makes less sense than a presumably sweet and definitely beautiful young woman).
They cast some kid from an idol group who is either 21 or 22. LOLOLOL whut CKH looks old enough to be his mother.
I honestly do not get the casting. She is not A-list nor is she gorgeous - neither behind-the-scenes nor dramawise does the casting make any sense whatsoever.

There is actually an ongoing drama made after the movie? Or is this a different story?
