Legend - spazzy spazziness

All these promos for Faith are making me want to rewatch The Legend - Faith's writer/director's previous drama. Legend was the first kdrama I liveblogged (despite being dog-sick at the time), it was my favorite drama for a long time (and may still be) and there is no doubt that Dam Deok is still my favorite drama hero of all time - driven, selfless, tormented, so very smart, ruthless, cornered. I love him. And I love Sujini (still my favorite kdrama heroine) and she and DD are probably still my biggest kdrama OTP - battle comrades, best friends, soulmates...
Anyone else feels like joining me in a rewatch? We could do two eps a day...
Have a shippy MV:
If Faith is half as good as Legend (no drama before or since have I been so possessed by), I will be ecstatic.

This is funny, I was rereading my "I want a friend to watch this" post abot "The Legend" only yesterday, watching a couple of MVs and this is the KDrama I'd love to rewatch.
I'm still angry with myself that I didn't pick up the DVD box in Seoul.

And the ending was an other problem for me. It always felt unfinished. What happened to the Phoenix storyline? All pain Sujini got through for nothing?
But that is a problem I often have with action Sageuk. At the beginning everything makes sense and is good but later with every episode I get confused more. The red string who is elemental for a good storyline gets disoriented or worse have been cut and start anew from an other point.
I liked Legend for it's actors, characters, music and great pictures but the story gives me headaches.

Yup, the ending was aprubt. I'm pretty sure it wasn't supposed to end like that but it's a wonder they were able to actually finish it at all. BYJ's injuries were bad enough to put him on an operating table almost as soon as they finished. He could barely stand, let alone walk propely at that point. Can't do much without the lead. Filming sageuks can be a downright health hazard for actors. They also run out of time due to injuries (almost everyone in the main cast and god knows how many others) and other unforseen obstacles. The cost of making an epi. :)

I know that. You can see it when he is finding Sujini again at the lake and when he is walking in the tent and need the stool to support.
I prefer the Japanese and Taiwan way of making Dramas. Makes it for the entire team more comfortable and the actors aren't looking that drained at the end. And the netizens and viewers can't demand all time the drama making fit their expectations.
The actors also have time then to promote their Drama properly. I love all the fanservice you get while promoting the Dramas.
Maybe it is typical Korean but I often feel they burn their stars and idols too fast. As much I love some actors I don't need a new Drama & movie from them each year. No wonder they have an exceptional high suicide rate in this buisness.

The Korean way of making dramas is totally nuts. It's a serious drain for everyone but I doubt they'll change it in a hurry though. The networks love to pander too much to the demands of the netziens/viewers.

Nuts. True!
And to demand of the netizens and viewers Hong Sisters Best Love drama shows us a bit of the bitter pill. All the bad news we heared last years I think it is just a scratch on a iceberg. Beeing a Celeb in Korea must be very hard especially when you have fans who idolize you and your agent company cares only for their money.

I liked the ending, actually. I thought it was made clear that Kiha was the dark phoenix, not Sujini...

The "dark" phoenix never was bad for me since it was caused by absolute emotional break down. Kiha for me was the most pityful character. She never had the chance to live a happy life. Some god sucked and humans had to live a miserable life over and over. He better had stayed "in heaven" :P. Damdeok took care of this at least.

I re-watched it not too long ago, so I can't follow you this time Mousie!
You know... I don't think "Faith" will be nearly as good as "Legend". First of all, that lead actress! She just SUCKS! Unless there was an unlikely miracle and she developed acting skills overnight, I don't think we should get our hopes up. And we all know that 80% of a drama's quality resides on the strength of the OTP! Minho is awesome, charismatic and eveything... but he can't sustain the drama or the romance alone!
Thinking about Faith makes me actually want to rewatch Escaflowne. Seriously, the premise is SO similar (except for the doctor part).
