My favorite romantic Bollywood sequence

To nobody's surprise, it's the gazebo scene between Shahrukh Khan and Kajol in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

Even though I love this movie, I do not love it enough to put in my Top 15. But that scene! That scene is insane!

Bonus is my favorite song picturization, also between Kajol and Shahrukh. This time from Kabhi Khushi Kabie Gham. I first saw this years ago and nothing has yet beat it.

mousie, can you recommend any Bollywood movies to me with crazy in love, obsessive, possessive and jealous heroes? Thanks!

This question was so hard but Hritik Roshans kaho na pyar he, he was crazy in love obsessed and ready to do anything for her!! I just realized that very rarely does Bollywood produce obsessed and possessive heroes, maybe the antagonist is that way but not the hero, unfortunately :( that would be a great movie where the guy is that crazy in love. I go to my romance novels and kdramas for those kind of guys

Thanks, too bad they don't make bollywood movies with more possessive obsessive heroes....at least kdramas and thai dramas are full of them :)

Bollywood heroes are all crazy in love, obssessive, possesive and jealous imho. That is why a film like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam -despite its numerous flaws, WTFs and a shamelessly stolen ending scene - is one of my faves. The hero in it is smart, caring and consumed with a constructive love that will benefit his beloved, rather than harm her.

Flirting in Bollywood is hero stalking the heroine until she gives in to his obssessive, crazy love.

There is a number, but the one I think fits your specs the most is "Tere Naam", in which Salman Khan plays a thug who falls for a very traditional college student. Have a pretty spoilery trailer:

thanks mousie!

mousie, thanks so much for recommending Tere Naam- the hero was so in love with the heroine- when he kidnapped her and confessed to her how madly in love with her he was... wow, I just couldn't stop myself from swooning. Are there any other movies with a similar hero, thanks!!!

I think Devdas might work...also Parineeta even more so.

I have a special place in my heart for Kajol and SRK.
They're like the OTP of Bollywood. I think I've come to love everything they've done together. And they're like the only pairing I remember from watching movies as a kid.

Suraj Hua Madum is actually my fave song from K3G. Especially how they lead into that song too. ;)

And I've watched that Gazebo scene billions of times and never get tired of it.

Yes. I am so glad they made a lot of movies together.

Thanks a lot mousie for posting that beautiful scene. Kajol and Shahrukhan are actually my favorite. And they are always great together. Their chemistry is fantastic. Can't get enough of them.

Also that song is one of my favorites ever. And the scenes and cinematography is great in it, may be I am biased because most of it was filmed in my country, hahaha :)

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS

SRK-Kajol

Oh I feel like i am fangirling over SRK and Kajol all over your livejournal. LOL.

Gotta say the Gazebo scene is my fav scene from this movie...shivers up my spine because he finally sees her as a woman. My next scene as I mentioned in the previous thread is when he tells her he loves her in their 'sign language'........so much angst there and I LOVED all of it. Lol I love tortured heroes and he deserved it for not noticing her earlier.

As for Suraj hua Madham....Brilliant cinematography and soothing music and undeniable SRK-Kajol chemistry!. Gotta say that scene before the song was pretty good too when he is putting the bangles on her hand. le sigh

LOL thanks for allowing me gush all over your threads. ahaha.

Awww, that was the first (and sadly only one of three) Bollywood movies I've seen. I've seen about 40+ Bollywood videos. A local channel in North Carolina had something called Saathee TV where they showed all types of Bollywood movies clips of songs -- there were always classic ones and newer ones, it was great.

Bolly songs picturizations are almost always lovely.
