Ummmm Ummm Ummm

Watching the remake of You're Beautiful, i.e. Ikemen Desu Ne has put me in the mind to rewatch the original and ummmmm ummmmmm ummmmmmm I now have a ridiculous crush on Jang Geun Seok's Tae Kyung and am actually adoring the drama to bits help help help I must be having a brain aneurism.

I think it really helps that I know what to expect (adorablness, shippiness, awesome soundtrack) and what not to expect (deep angst, tight plot, fakecest - I was so sure it would have fakecest, when I watched it the first time around).

OMG.

Brb, shovelling a big slice of crow in my face right now.

Grah.

I want the DVDs now and everything. Have a song from the drama

Seriously, I don't know what's happening to me!

Send heeeeeelp!

I know all about eating one's words :o) I've started watching Time Between Dog and Wolf and I've become a Lee Jun Ki convert. You were right, he looks so different here. I still don't like him in My Girl or Iljimae but he's burning my screen in TBDAW.

And I'm also actually kind of liking the Japanese version of YAB. I swore to myself I'd drop it like a hot potato after the first episode but I somehow found myself watching episodes 2 and 3. I'm not in love with it and I still prefer the Korean original version but it's enjoyable. It's at its best when it doesn't stick to the Korean version words for words.

Re-YAB, I thought they were going the Fakecest route as well! All the signs were there. I'm glad it didn't because I don't think that kind of angst would have suited the tone of the drama. It would have been kind of jarring. I was satisfied with the level of angst we got at the end. Speaking of Fakecest, now I feel like rewatching Tree of Heaven. I love fakecest stories. The angst hurts so good.

Re: TBDW!!! YESSSSS! Isn't it angstoliciously wonderful? How far in are you.

I adore the jdrama version of YAB because I am always more of a straight romance over romcom person. Either way, both are awesome (as I have rediscovered).

I was hoping for fakecest so much - it's my fave trope! Boooo on Hong Sisters not giving me enough angst :P

I've only watched up to the end of episode 3 of TBDW so not far in at all. I'm not obsessed with it yet but I can see the potential. As I was watching, all the spoilers I read came back to me and I'm really looking forward to some stuff (the amnesia thing for example.). I was thinking of watching a couple more episodes tonight.

The Japanese version of YAB is moving at a pretty fast pace, as expected from a Jdrama. But I can't see it being less than 10 or 11 episodes unless the decide to cut a lot more stuff. 9 episodes would be really short. I hope to see it deviate a bit more from YAB while staying true to the spirit of the original. I find the scenes copied word for word kind of boring to watch and all the little additions/changes more interesting.

If I'm not mistaken, the Hong Sisters' angstiest drama was HGD right? Maybe they were as traumatized by the ending as we were and swore off too much angst for the forseeable future. lol! I do hope to see them writing another more serious drama.
