All Feng Shao Feng, all the time. Well, sort of.

1. Have some angsty Playboy from Four Women Conflict.

I have a thing for tear wiping:

Playboy declaring he killed Lanyan's husband.

In jail, telling her he won't live without her.

Pretty pretty pretty:

OTP!

He's been made to believe she died (she needs to pretend to be dead to catch whoever is trying to kill her - i.e. puppy killer). Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh.

He sort of is going photogenically insane and telling her he will marry her even though she's a corpse and that he's now just a body without a soul etc. These pics seem very relevant to the "crying men - hot, wussy, or lickable" poll question. Your verdict?

At her tomb. Puppy Killer is all "but whyyyyy don't you love me? She's dead." Seriously, someone buy this lady a clue.

2. [livejournal.com profile] ockoala just informed me that FSF and Yang Mi are going to play the OTP of contemporary cdrama Destiny's Concerto. Normally, modern-day cdramas are rarely my thing but I am going to give it a try just for them. Together with JPLH, its movie sequel and Legend of Tiger Amulet, that's four times they have been paired in one year (!!!!). I've seen some griping on spcnet about it (why?) but I am doing an ecstatic jig because they sort of my became my favorite drama pairing and I am so very happy to see them together again.

3. I wasn't particularly interested in Schemes of Beauty before but it's made by the same guy who made FWC and JPLH, it has FSF and Yang Mi (not as an OTP, but that is even more fun. Yang Mi's OTP in this is Four, a.k.a. Mikey He, and FSF's otp is Myolie Wu). Must check this out now - I believe viki has it. Have these two MVs for the two OTPs

Yang Mi/Mikey (thanks for finding it, [livejournal.com profile] hanjae:

FSF/Myolie:

4. And speaking of Yang Mi/Mikey He - I am on ep 16 of JPLH and I do believe Four might be developing feelings for our intrepid heroine. How do I know? Well, he hesitates to slit her throat while she's lying there unconscious after having taken a sword stab to save his life. He decides not to kill her (on the off chance she's somehow implicated in something against him - hello, paranoia!) despite being really tempted.

Now we know that with Four this is as good as shouting from the rooftops that it's LOVE!

5. Thanks for the heads-up, [livejournal.com profile] hanjae. Trailer for FSF/Yang Mi Warring States awesomesauce collab Legend of Tiger Amulet is out:

I want!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have tried to get my hands on Schemes of a Beauty but i cant find them anyway, and i refuse to buy DVDs just for FSF and Myolie Wu!

As for the above discussion on Yu Zheng, I really don't give two hoots about the copying. For me, i feel that if you've watched enough dramas, sooner or later, you'll come to the realisation that a lot of stuff is recycled anyway. what's more important to me is how it's handled by the director, the actors, and whether or not it is relevant to the story being told. And anyway, as i've seen quite a few YZ dramas now, i'm actually more bothered about his view on women and relationships than his copying.

As for rabid fandom, lol, i will admit that i spent most of last weekend trawling though the spcnet forums, in particular the Qing Shi Huang Fei. Iljimae and, ahem, the Wallace Huo threads. And it is crazy how some fans or anti-fans for that matter think. In Ruby Lin's QSHF, the level of love and hate is scary, although amusing! Lol, i can't for the life of me understand why she's picked Wallace Huo and then proceeded to make him look like some overgrown mountain gorilla! Lol, i suppose i'll have a look at the Gong threads for entertainment now!

Really? Are you after the raws? Because there are links everywhere, let me know if you need them. :O

And so true about how many dramas recycle plot. Honestly, the Hanadan setup's formed the basis of 90% of Asian romcoms; poor & spunky girl catches the attention of rich & spoilt jerk with a marshmallow center, who teases her and ends up falling for her. Kdrama romcoms are still using this theme. It's just that they were less obvious about the Hanadan imitation and because some people jumped into Gong already expecting YZ to copy something, that it became such a big deal.

LOL I've been surprised at the Ruby hate, actually. I'm still wonder what she's actually done to warrant it? I mean, she's used her personal connections to build a cast of hot guys! Nothing to complain about. Evil Yan Kuan's actually looking a lot more attractive than Wallace though, from the stills of QSHF that I've seen. Wallace needs to put his foot down and refuse to wear anymore dead animals around his shoulders.

ooo, can u give me directions to raws?

as for the ruby hate, i think it's precisely because she's used her connections, to build a cast of attractive men around her. but surely there's nothing wrong with that! it's her first time being a producer, she's got a lot riding on this, and if it means ensuring that she's built a cast of attractive men around her to try to get audience figures, then what is wrong with it? i think fan-girls automatically assume that it's her being narcissistic! but seriously, if i was personal friends with wallace huo, i would definitely call in this favour, which is what she's rumoured to have done.

Here! :D

Or if you have an account at AsianEU, they have the whole thing there too. Enjoy!

Re: Ruby. Wow, seriously?! That's pretty crazy, because I thought it was practically common practice and therefore not a big deal. Some screenwriters and directors tend to call on actors they're close to/worked well with all the time - look at YZ's obsession with Mickey He. And a looot of actors-turned-director/producer do that, too. There's really no harm in getting friends who happen to be A-listers to appear in your drama, anyway. :P It's not like the guy is ugly and can't act. As far as I'm concerned, it's just a shame Yuan Hong was too busy to appear, LOL.

Re: copying. Yes. Original dramas of any stripe are far and few between. Most kdrama romcoms begin to all blend into into one another for me. Doesn't mean I still don't enjoy a well-made one.

I never got a hoot about copying in any format (ooooh, now I am flashing back to Cassandra Clare debacle in Harry Potter fandom ages ago). All I want is for the story to entertain me.

Wallace Huo and then proceeded to make him look like some overgrown mountain gorilla!

As a Russian, I approve of fur :P

[identity profile] hanjae.livejournal.com 2011-03-22 01:34 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL omg Cassandra Clare debacle. You can't even mention her name without huge wankery erupting, with elitists repeating the "Plagiarism is BAD!" mantra and lecturing the mere mortals on Clare's crimes. And then everyone will proceed to post and say how much they agree with it, Clare is a total hack and should be boycotted and cursed for the rest of her lifetime, etc.

[identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com 2011-03-22 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL yes. And I couldn't care less. When I was a much younger Mousie, CC's endless Draco fics gave me hours of enjoyment and when I was an older Mousie, her trashy-angsty novels also gave me hours of enjoyment, and that's all I care about.

[identity profile] hanjae.livejournal.com 2011-03-22 01:44 pm (UTC)(link)
EXACTLY. I loved her Draco fics back in the day and am eternally glad I used to have a habit of copying the fics I read onto Word files and saved them. :P Her Mortal Instruments series is also faaaar from quality literature, but I practically inhaled them anyway. Entertaining stuff and had all the right tropes, which is really all I care about at the end of the day. Though I must admit her latest series set in the Victorian era makes my head spin and I thoroughly dislike the male lead.

[identity profile] kitkat-cat.livejournal.com 2011-03-22 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
lol, i hang my head in shame, i never made my peace with the harry potter novels (practically been disowned and disavowed by family and friends for this!!!), so i havent got a clue about Cassandra Clare. :)

i will admit that my interest in the drama was at its peak when it was rumoured that Yuan Hong would be in it. Unfortunately, i think he couldnt wrap up BBJX in time, and apparently Wallace Huo's involvement was pretty last minute cos the first people knew of him being in it, was actually seeing him there on location!

now, if he was in nothing BUT fur...heeeeeeeee! Brain in gutter!

[identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com 2011-03-22 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Re: CC. Short version. She was huuuge in the fandom, by far the most famous fanfic author - she wrote these super-long Draco fics. Apparently she plagiarized some quotes from some published authors. Eh, whatever, the story was still hers and I was entertained.

Yuan Hong or Wallace Huo? Ah, fangirl dilemmas.

Though the fangirls who are frothing at the mouth Ruby surrounded herself with attractive younger men (it's the younger part that seems to bug them, which wtf - it's not as if any of them are 19) would probably have an even bigger coronary with YH.

Re: fur. LOL. I presume you mean on a tiger rug and not wearing fur overalls? :P
