dangermousie: (Young Warriors of the Yang Clan - Four)
dangermousie ([personal profile] dangermousie) wrote2011-03-04 12:35 pm

What is cuter than puppies?

Seven and his OTP, that's who! Sorry, Four, I still love you and Lady Doc together but as far as shipping goes, you are now taking second place to Seven/Lady Robber.

He realizes the robber he's about to hit is a young woman.

God, there are not enough words for how much I love them together.

So, because he scared off all her attendants and broke her palanquin and she really was about to get married, he escorts her.

But it turns out her intended is a sleazy cheating scumbag who only wants her cash, so he rescues her.

So adorable!

But Four, don't angst, I still adore you!

And your OTP with Lady Doc!

But it is Papa and Mama Yang, with their unswerving trust in and care for each other, who leave me speechless in this ep.

Did I mention that when they were dating, Papa got Mama a spear as a courting present? How could I not love them?

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have the first ep of Thorn Birds with subs to watch.

Oh, and not related to anything, but this Buhwal song is beyond amazing. Have it. I've been listening to it non-stop for at least a dozen times.

Lee Seung Chul's voice gives me shivers. And Kim Tae Won's songs really are something else. I hope he gets better soon!

Yes, they are the cutest couple ever! My favourite OTP involving one of the Yang brothers. She showed up way to late for my liking though, they barely had time together as husband and wife.

Well, there were seven siblings to deal with :)

Hey, just thought you'd like to see interviews and stuff Yang Mi and Feng Shao Gang are doing to promote JPLH.

:P

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

So cute!

And what's that mention of another upcoming drama? Presumably a different one from JPLH sequel?

*puts on TL;DR hat*

Well, the title of the new drama references a famous event during the Warring States period involving the Tiger 'Amulet' of Wei, which basically gives military authority equivalent of the Wei emperor to whomever holds it. Historically, the Wei emperor's concubine Ru stole the amulet to give to Xin Lingjun, a prominent (not noble but something similar) political mover-and-shaker in Zhao, in order to fend off Qin (of Qin dynasty fame). This sort of thing, of course, was frowned upon, and when the Wei emperor threw the expected hissy fit, Concubine Ru replied that she did this in service of both Wei (to weaken a potential conqueror) and to avenge her father, who was a regional lord, and presumably killed in battle before she was married to the Wei emperor. Later, after the emperor sends her to the 'cold palace' (don't know if there is an English equivalent), she commits suicide at her father's grave.

Err... in this version the story is that Concubine Ru (Yang Mi) was in love with Xin Lingjun (Feng Shaofeng), but somehow married the Emperor of Wei instead and I'm guessing all the incipient tragedy follows.

In summary: they're playing star-crossed lovers in period Chinese drama - tears guaranteed.

Please let there be subs...

OMG! Thanks for the info. Recently found out about this and now dying to watch it. I thought nothing could beat the combo of Fenolie but Yang Mi and FSF are just as cute. Strange thing is there's not too much info on this new drama, at least none that I can find..aka: google. Heard it'll air towards the end of the year!!!^^

I just posted a few stills I found, but yes, info seems to be scarce. Is it the same production house as did JPLH?

Btw, what does Fenolie stand for?

Fenolie = FSF + Myolie Wu. FSF & Myolie first appeared together in a joint TVB/mainland production called The Drive Of Life a few years ago and that's when the term "Fenolie" was started. They also played a couple again in Yu Zheng's drama Mei Ren Jin Xi. Myolie is my favorite actress so I'm quite partial to her. I think there are a good number of "Fenolie" fans out there like myself. Unfortunately, Myolie is with TVB (Hong Kong) so chances of her filming with FSF again is low compared to Ady or Yang Mi, who film mainland dramas like FSF.

Regarding FSF and Yang Mi, I think I've heard ppl combining their names into FengMi...lol.

Aww, that's unfortunate that the subs used "reject" instead of "object" in that scene where Mama comes home.

What's totally totally amazing is that it never even crossed his mind to doubt Mama or be bothered by her previous relationship or be jealous of his "love-rival". In that way he is very Guo Jing-esque and that's probably why I'm head-over-heels in love with him (Guo Jing from the LOCH novel was my first Wuxia crush).

[identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com 2011-03-04 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
The subs get a bit iffy now and then, but seeing as if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be able to follow this at all, I do not mind.

I've only seen the 2008 version of LOCH, I haven't read the novel, but I adored GJ in that.

Ohhh Lee Seung Chul ♥ I love that man. How amazing was his song, "That Person", for the Baker King OST? I kept hoping he'd perform it live, but all I could find were the Baker King MVs using the song.

Have you heard Boohwal's recent collab with Park Wan Kyu, "Secret"? I liked it so much I made a ringtone out of it. I was hoping they'd do a collab with Lee Seung Chul next, but considering poor Grandma Tae Won's stomach cancer, I wonder whether that'll happen now.

Haven't heart Secret. off to look!

Yes, LSC is beyond amazing.

Their live performance at Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook! The song is AMAZING, and as usual written by Kim Tae Won.

Jaw-droppingly awesome, isn't it?

Park Wan Kyu is Lee Seung Chul level of legend, but I never really heard much from him other than that famous "Love of a Thousand Years" song until after I saw that video. Then I went a-searching.

[identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com 2011-03-05 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
I must listen to him more!
