I am Legend - who will be Kim Sun Ah's leading man

Now that I am Legend has been rushed into production for a May broadcast, I keep wondering who they are going to cast as the male lead opposite Kim Sun Ah? This is such a rush job they don't really have the time to look around.

Unless they are going for a younger man storyline, their leading guy has to be over 30 and I can't think of anyone who'd fit.

People like Kang Ji Hwan (it would actually be pretty interesting to see them together), Gong Yoo, Song Seung Heon, Cha Seung Won, Kwon Sang Woo, Song Il Gook, Park Shi Hoo, Ji Sung etc are all either doing dramas now or will be doing dramas or movies shortly and thus can't take on another one. A whole bunch of actors who'd be suitable are in the army. I honestly can't think who is left. This is completely random but Park Yong Ha is age-appropriate and has no drama coming up. But other than him I can't come up with anyone. Maybe Lee Sung Jae or Park Shin Yang (but the latter is banned by the studios). Hmmm.

Guesses? Suggestions?

I am horribly curious.

I'm not sure who would be a good leading man (despite my current all-consuming love for kdramas I'm a very recent convertee and still don't know all the names) but I was wondering if you knew the story behind Park Shin Yang's banning? I read something about pay disputes but it seemed like a hefty punishment, if that was the case.

It was something ridiculous like he wanted to be given his paycheck and the company didn't want to fork over the dough.

ETA: I actually think he won his lawsuit so the ban is lifted, but no one has hired him since then.

Okay I'm just going to throw in super random names but what about Oh Ji Ho? He's not doing anything yet and he's got some fresh popularity right now coming out from Chuno that they can capitalize on.

Or maybe Choi Chul Ho? He's not that popular but Kim Sun Ah's popularity alone can carry this series to safe shore.

Or Won Bin? or maybe Rain? He was thinking of a comeback drama to work on, wasn't he? Okay the last two names I'm reserving them to work with LDH in her next project so they're off limits. Can I do that even though LDH hasn't even announced her next project yet? HAHA

OJH would be great (if he is a rocker he can keep long hair!) but would he do another drama so soon after Chuno? Doesn't the poor man need to catch up on his sleep.

Rain's next drama is supposed to be with Chuno's writer.

I'd love to see Won Bin but this may not be high profile enough (and too last minute) for him.

JJH is in Dong Yi currently, BYJ - I don't think anything is going to lure him in a drama not 100% about him, not with his status.

I thought JJH was going to be in Page One or whatever it is they renamed it to. The others totally could work though.

Hmm, actors over 30 who've had lead roles... Go Soo? He's available, but I'm not sure whether it'd be his thing. He's certainly sexy enough though. *drools*

Ki Tae Young's available, but it'd be ridiculous putting him next to Kim Sun Ah, and it's probably too high profile for him anyway. Hmm. Eom Tae Woong? Lee Sun Gyun? Lee Jong Hyuk? Choi Chul Ho? Oh wait, he's in Dong Yi.

It's too bad Jang Hyuk's got a Chinese drama coming up. A couple of people on the KSA Soompi thread suggested Cha Tae Hyun, but even though I love him, can you imagine him paired with KSA? LOLLL.

Jo In Sung is in the military, I don't think they'll let him out to make a drama :)

JGS - he is making that You Are My Pet movie. Also, not a big fan of younger man/older woman stories myself (though if they went into that direction, they'd have a lot more casting choices open).

I adore Hyun Bin, arguably my fave kdrama actor, but I don't want him in this - I am one of 5 people on the planet who didn't like Kim Sam Soon and also I think he's better in heavy stuff (like Friend Our Legend). Though I suppose he may be available - I think his movie recently finished shooting.

After KSA being paired with CSW, I can`t see any other actor better than him, but I agree OJH is the best guy for the lead actor. His a hottie like CSW and same age with KSA, but with the ex-husband I like Daniel Henny.
But my first choice is Rain, he is the BEST, but he will be doing a drama, but there is no info yet, so I was thinking may be, just may be, KSA and Rain will be together in IAL. [jastinel]

Nope, no news yet which is kinda crazy - if it's after PP, they have 8 weeks until air date! I hope whoever he is, he's eye candy who can act :)
