I haven't seen enough of all of Dr Who to comment, but I do think my biggest problem with Martha is that she is well-adjusted, well-behaved. There is just not much to grab on there.
I mean, if a crush is her biggest problem? Outside of someone like De Stael's 'Corinne,' it's hardly an intensely-serious-sympathetic feeling which leads the sufferer to keel over.
