I agree 100%. Friday Night Lights is only minorly about football - it's really about people and small town dynamics and the realism of the character behaviors and interactions is unbelievably good and and entertaining. Not to mention that the production's aesthetic value is incredible - I absolutely adore the way it is filmed and edited which lend it a quality and flavor that, along with the A+ solid writing, is wholly original on network television.

I don't usually pimp shows because taste is always subjective, but I agree with [livejournal.com profile] alexandral - give it a try, watch a couple episodes and see if it changes your mind. I can't stand football, and twelve episodes into the first season, I'm utterly enraptured.
