Oh, you darlings, darlings, darlings
I am so so emotional after I finished episode 22. They are so selfless, desperate, in love, angsty, heroic, beautiful. No words. No words.

They break my heart.
If they don't get their happy ending, I am going to flip.
Yes, proper post coming, of course, but I had to get this out.

And on a less speculative line of argument:
I really see no way for this drama to end, other than with ES and CY together. Why? Because the writer won't be able to screw with actual history -- which has CY becoming this formidable general, winning uncountable battles/wars for Goryeo, and basically being remembered as a great national hero. But CY hasn't achieved any of that by 1351 (when "Faith" is happening). And, if character consistency has any meaning at all, for the writer, then neither will CY be able to fulfill his destiny without ES by his side.
Seriously, with as much as he loves her, with as much of a wreck as he is already just thinking that he will lose her... and indeed knowing the empty shell of a man that he will become without ES... Well, I think it's pretty obvious that, if he loses ES, CY won't become a national hero anytime in the future. Instead, most likely he will seek (and find) death in his very first battle.
So yeah, for history's sake, Faith HAS GOT to give us a happy ending for our ImJa couple.
ETA: Also, do you all know that, supposedly, the historical general Choi Young had a woman he loved very much (not sure if she was a wife or a concubine), and her surname was Yoo. And our fictional Yoo Eun Soo in "Faith" -- well, initially, her surname was "Jeon", but then the writer changed it to "Yoo". Major hopes for my desired HEA reside in this tidbit, y'know?
