But Eun-Soo is aware that if she takes him with her, she will change the history of Goryeo (and Korea) as we know it

Of course, ES knows that, and she's too selfless and too much in love to take CY away from his destiny. And I was always, from the very start, "Team ES-and-CY-should-get-their-HEA-in-Goryeo".
Nevertheless, now that things have progressed this far (ES is in real danger of dying), I just don't get why CY doesn't tell her "let's go to Heaven TOGETHER". (I don't actually want them to follow through, but I *want* to hear him say those words).

even though Choi Young has thought about it, I doubt he would adjust as smoothly as Eun-Soo did

I'm just looking at this as an intellectual debate, okay? 'Cause I don't actually want CY to live in the future.
Still... to play devil's advocate. Honestly, the fact that CY would have trouble adjusting to life in the future is a lame argument when weighted against the survival of his woman. The love of his life.
He loves ES desperately, he cannot convince her to go alone (and btw, how can he even bear to suggest eternal separation, feeling as he does for her?), and life as a Goryeo warrior has lost its meaning for him.
So what the heck keeps him in Goryeo at this point?
I'd understand him clinging to Goreyo if the writer had just left him as he was -- a warrior, defined by his honor and his duty to his king. But no: the sword has become heavy for him, he's denied any allegiance to Goryeo, and he's already left his king (ie he hasn't returned yet). So I'm asking again: what the heck keeps CY in Goryeo at this point? When his woman is about to die there?

Also, I'm with your_insomnia on this: ES and CY should try and go to Heaven just long enough for ES to get treatment. Yes, they don't know how long the door will be open, but better to try and save ES than have them meekly accept her (almost certain) death. Right?
I hate these kinds of obvious plot holes.

In other news:
Someone over on the soompi forums posted a spoiler: "Faith" is scheduled to film where that statue thingy is (Heaven's portal in the modern world, through which CY arrived in the 1st episode in Seoul). So yeah.
