I tend to be more forgiving of romance novels because they're not setting out to be accurate. It's all about the fantasy. Real-life details like disease, lack of modern technology...that just gets in the way! :-P

I share your dislike of the whole were-genre, though. Ugh, and the names! I could never read a J R Ward book for the simple fact that her character names are so. Stupid.
