I am so sorry - I am beyond behind on replies. I promise to get to them by the weekend.

But now on to the drama that owns my heart and soul - Faith. I rarely ship the way I ship Eun Soo/Choi Young here - they are so functional together, make each other better, make each other live.

This episode shows us every way in which CY and ES make each other happy and how they can be and then...yanks it away.

(Thoughts and caps on ep 21)

His confession! And her face! I especially love the part where he says he knows there are people waiting for her but he will still ask her to stay - never have I rooted so much for someone to learn to be selfish.

They are so married! And the way she keeps calling him "General" and he comes close and growls at her "say general one more time" and she does and he is totally about to kiss her when underling interrupts. Curses! *shakes fist* What strikes me about this episode is how domestic they are - cooking, helping with clothes (well, one half of the couple being CY, it's armor instead of clothes), talking about their day, sleeping holding hands, easing each other's burdens, whether small or big like the death of Jang Bin. For them it's not about the big gestures (though these two can and have made the biggest), it's about the compatibility of the everyday.

She is devastated by the loss of Jang Bin and blames herself and CY, almost wordlessly, takes care of her as if she was a child. To see a deadly warrior be so caring and tender - oh my God. He wipes her hands, takes off her armor, tucks her in. But the greatest act of kindness and understanding is when he talks about the first man he killed and how he couldn't sleep and still remembers his face but not the face of any man after - because he helps her headspace so much, sharing.

This scene! The way she glows! The way she wants him to turn on the count of three (I've done that before myself :P), their smiles, their happiness, their closeness - everything about this scene, especially when she watches him doing mundane things as if it's the most amazing thing.

Nogook and ES and NG figuring out that she dies before Gongmin :(

With the envoy. Does anyone else think the envoy must be a time-traveller himself? He seems to be doing the warning about not interfering a lot and had that Hangul letter.

Making tea and he drinks it and she grins to see he likes it. Seriously, so married. Even the shipper Woodalchi think so and are happy for Mom and Dad :)

Our General can win any fight except for one with Eun Soo. Here she is bossing him into sleeping on the bed.

Somebody has a hair fetish :) On a more serious note, all of this episode (and the next) he's been having problems with his sword hand - he has problems gripping. I agree with everyone who thinks it's more psychological than physiological - he has felt his sword become more and more heavy and a part of him just wants to be done with everything but leaving in peace with ES. Plus, he worries about leaving her all day for duty (especially since she's poisoned). Oh, poor guy.

He pulls her on the bed with him!!!! I love her little grin. And then they hold hands, sleeping. My heart! I also love that nowadays, it's CY who initiates most of their touching - he's been starved of it his whole life and now cannot get enough. How will he function if she dies or leaves? He can't! That is why she has to get healthy and stay in Goryo - no way can he become the general of legend without her.

She helps him with his armor. Uh-oh, I am worried - I've seen Legend, I know major angst is coming when a woman helps a man with his armor in a Song Jina drama! She makes such a perfect partner for him - a woman who can send her man off to danger without a word and help him put the armor on because she knows that is who he is (and a man who will let his woman do what she needs and thinks is right even if he disagrees because he knows that is who she is).

On to the perfection that is ep 22!
