If the first episode of Dr. Jin amused me, I have fallen for the second one. I am viewing it as a cheesy romantic delight and it's hitting every shippy button I have. I mean, she sold him out to the soldiers! Because she thought he was a murderer! And then he saved her brother's life and she desperately wants to take it back! And she is the doppelganger for his comatose true love back in our time! Also, I approve of SSH being sexily tied up!

And they have gorgeous angsty shippy chemistry-filled scenes like the above!

Oh yeah, did I mention them staring at each other as he's being taken to an execution?! This drama knows what I like!

Thank you for being my very own romance novel, Dr. Jin!

I've never heard of this but it looks awesome. My trust of sageuks are low, however, so I do not trust your attempts to sway me with cheesy goodness. :

I'll probably still watch though because time traveling tropes are right up there on my list..

Oh, this is as dumb as a box of rocks, but way entertaining and the OTP hits every kink.

I don't mind if it's dumb. I can have really absurd taste in dramas. As long as I'm entertained and I like the OTP, I can watch some really dumb shit. Heh.

*makes grabby hands* Come to, mama. ;)

Speaking of time travel crackiness, I just started Queen In Hyun's Man and I adore it so far. I don't know what's up with Korea and time travel dramas this year but me likey. *g*

For me the Japanese version did a lot more, romance-wise, but I tend to *moe* over self-restraint and unspoken, unresolved sexual tension. Actually, along with the Korean Jin coming out, and having happened to see two recent versions of Pride and Prejudice, the distinctions between Japanese and Korean versions of stories strike me as similar to the differences between British and American adaptations of the same story. I know the 2005 Kiera Knightly P&P wasn't American, but it struck me as kind of Americanized, (no underlying meaning intended!) compared to the 5 hour BBC version. American and Korean actors/actresses have more instantly gratifying facial expressions, if that makes sense, but restraint can be even more memorable for me sometimes. Korean and American productions also both have a penchant for spiffying things up with superlatives, like how Jin is not just a talented surgeon, but the most renowned one in Korea! Anyhoo, thanks for the excellent caps.

I prefer the BBC P&P and JIN was an excellent drama but romance there didn't click (I mean, there really wasn't one, imo),

I do love jdrama romances but they don't make them much any more :(

It was pretty subtle, but it was definitely there. Like when Saki sees Nokaze for the first time and realizes from seeing Jin's photograph her resemblance to Miki, it's clear from her expression that she has feelings for Jin. It becomes more apparent in the 2nd season. I guess Japanese prefer their drama romances below the surface. Either way, this Korean version's definitely gotten better since the first ep.

Yeah, I haven't seen this week's eps yet but 2 was better than 1.

Dumb as a box of rocks hahaha!
What do you think, is it worth watching for LBS and LSY?
I love how all the Jaejoong fangirls are explaining how marvelous he is when all I've heard that he is so stiff and wooden.

I like JJ in general but I am not sure how cut out for sageuks he is. Apparently most of the problems are about his speaking but since I am not Korean, I cannot evaluate that.

LBS is excellent, stealing the show, but he is a supporting character, fwiw.
