1. Tried to watch Up. Got pissed off at manipulation and the clear fact that girls don't get to adventure but boys do.

2. Watched Up in the Air instead which was awesome.

3. Watched some of Portrait of a Beauty, Korean film about female painter who crossdresses as a man in order to have a career. Same story drama Painter of the Wind is based on, but much more preferred as there is enough story for 2hr movie, not 16hr drama. Plus, her OTP is age-appropriate. Gotta say, one of the most explicit movies I've seen in a while. In addition to hero/heroine epic sex scene, there is a lengthy totally unnecessary scene of heroine sneaking into brothel to paint two women who reenact some varying and explicit sexual positions for patrons. Not sure why the scene needed to be 10 minutes but whatever. Main reason for watching was Kim Nam Gil as the OTP and he is a little Bidamish in this so time not wasted.

Have a cap I can actually show:

It all ends about as well aa could be expected.

4. Rewatched some earlier parts of Chuno, and yes, my obsession with Song Tae Ha, the slave general, is unhealthy. I have come to terms with it.

Kill Dae Gil the poor guy, I don't even care, just let my woobie Tae Ha live, please!

5. Watched first ep of Yi San. It's good but a little too creepy (first ep had mistreatment of children, filicide by starving someone to death - King to grown-up Crown Prince) blah blah. I think I will postpone - traditional sageuks are always iffy for me.

Still, insanely pretty.

Lots of caps from first ep )

Just watched episodes 19 and 20 of Hong Gil Dong.

So good.

What am I going to do when this is over?

Not too long but spoilery thoughts )

Screencaps from eps 19 and 20 )

Also, now that I know some of my flisters are enjoying Yi San, I will definitely check it out. Here is a neat MV: swords, pretty heroine played by the awesome Han Ji Min and angsty period-garbed Lee Seo Jin. What more can one ask?

I think I’ve been in the drama fandom for too long when my reaction on finding out there are Kang Ji Hwan/Han Ji Min rpshippers is to go ‘awwwww, that means Capital Scandal is loved, yay!’ and not the ‘eeeeeek’ it would have been a few months earlier. LOL.

In other news, is anyone interested in On-Air? It just started airing (and has been picked up for subbing). The story is about the drama making world (I love stories about themselves) and revolves around four characters: temperamental big star Kim Ha Neul, a production manager/agent Lee Bum Soo, a PD who is stalled in his career Park Yong Ha, and a successful script-writer Suh Young Eun. Drama about dramas. Sounds lovely. Plus, it seems like a story with four main characters/two couples (KHN/LBS and PYH/SYE), not an eternal love quadrangle, which makes me happy.

I am also mildly interested in the recently started Who Are You, if for nothing else than sheer bizarreness of the plot. The story is thus: Our hero, Cha Seung Hyo (Yoon Kye Sang), is an abandoned child who gets adopted in the US and grows up to be a cold-hearted, ruthless businessman (we all know, people in the US are ebol). Well, he is grown-up and back in Korea and his paths cross that of Son Young In (Go Ara), our heroine, a manhwa author wannabe. They don’t hit it off too well, but here is the twist! Young In’s Dad recently passed away and I kid you not he becomes a ghost who is capable of taking over Seong Hyo’s body for three hours a day for 49 days, in order to watch over his daughter. WTF. I repeat, WTF. Kdrama makers, I love you for the sheer crack.

Oh, and dramabeans had an awesome post about Lee Seo Jin being a guest on Kim Jung Eun’s music program. Post is here. Adorable! Commander Hwangbo Yoon, I am glad to see you so happy, even if the fact that you hooked up with your Lovers co-star/OTP and are apparently even talking marriage gives further hope and fodder for crazed drama rpshippers. Also, has anybody been watching LSJ’s Yi-San? It has craaaazy ratings and I love period dramas, and it also costars the adorable Han Ji Min, but I don’t think anyone on my flist is watching it and I want to have a flist stamp of approval before committing to 70 (???) eps. I have to say, LSJ must have magic drama picking skills and/or a good agent. All of the dramas I can think of that he starred in have been big hits: Yi-San, Lovers, Damo, Phoenix.
