The spoiler for ep 17 of Hong Gil Dong (you know which one I mean) made me gleeful.

Also, here are pics (utterly unspoilery and promo) of KJH as HGD, looking beyond scrumptuous.

Hotness here )

Also, because talking with [livejournal.com profile] alexandral made me remember how much I adored Delightful Girl Chun-Hyang, here is this gorgeous angsty DGCH MV:

Another adorable MV )

It also made me remember how much I hated Byun Hak-Do, the 'other guy' in it. I think he is my least favorite other guy ever. It took me forever to be able to watch Uhm Tae-Woong in anything else after that. So, since I thought I never ranted about him, here it is.

On why BHD invites the ire of dangermousie )

Oh, and it also reminded me that I want to finish Witch Yoo Hee. I adored it when it aired, but I usually have huge trouble with waiting for subs. Must finish now.

Here is a smoochy MV:

Now off to finish Hello My Teacher.

I am tempted to check out Dal Ja's Spring but I have heard it's like Kim Sam Soon, and I really disliked that drama. So, what do you think?

Other choices for my next kdrama are Thank You, Smile Again, Save the Last Dance, and Beautiful Days. And Hotelier once I can differentiate BYJ from DD.

Though for now I think I'll finish Witch Yoo Hee. I remember liking it when it first aired but then getting sidetracked and not finishing.

I have been reading two Latina chick-lit books both of which are delightful.

Book ramblings )

Oh, and yes, am obsessing over Bichunmoo drama. I enjoyed the 2000 movie but it is not a favorite like CTHD or HOFD, in part because the ending is so OTT melodramatic, even for me (I want to smack both of them) and in part because the story is definitely crammed to fit the movie running time. You find yourself going ‘whaaaa?’ And both of these problems are taken care of in this adaptation. The OTP’s deaths aren’t ridiculous but noble, and the running time problem has been solved. Also, one thing I prefer is that, unlike [livejournal.com profile] meganbmoore, I am gleeful with the change of Xiu-Li (the heroine) to a warrior woman. In the original she is very ornamental and court ladyish, which might be more historically accurate but not nearly as fun.

Binchunmu ramblings, not spoilery )

I have all of The Outsiders subbed now. I foresee a huge binge.

But this is not the post about that. It is a post about two other things. First, it’s a plug for a really underrated drama: Witch Yoo Hee.

I know that response to Witch Yoo Hee has been mixed. The thing is, it’s a good drama, but it’s not a great one and I can see how it can be frustrating as you can see how with some tweaking it could have been. Especially since Jae Hee doesn’t do many dramas at all, so for this Jae Hee fangirl, you want it to be super awesome (but then hey, 16 hours of ogling him on screen is OK with me, too).

Its biggest fault seems to be, in the eyes of detractors, that it’s largely ‘amiable characters in search of a plot.’ Admittedly, that might very well be true: this drama is too enamoured of all the characters it created and doesn’t seem to be able to let got of any of them, and thus it’s not as focused as it should have been.

But I don’t mind it at all as all the lovable, kooky characters are so entertaining that I could watch them all year, from Yoo-Hee herself, who is someone Sunako from Wallflower or Kyoko from Skip Beat would have been if they were grown-ups, to Moo-Ryong, the charming oddball who is completely incowed by Yoo-Hee, to Yoo-Hee’s employees and friends and even the delicious, though decidedly self-absorbed surgeon-childhood-love-of-Yoo-Hee played by Kim Jung Hoon.

How can you really go wrong with an awesome art design and clothes and lighting? A yummy, fun cast with great chemistry, sharp exchanges and swoony moments between the awesome heroine and one of the most adorable heroes to hit kdramas in recent times? Throw in just a little pinch of angst and you got the fun that is WYH.

Yeah, it’s not tightly scripted and more focus on Yoo-Hee/Moo-Ryong love story and development would have been better. But who can resist such fun? Not I.

And secondly, it’s a bunch of yummy angsty Lee Junki pics. More specifically, it’s pictures from the upcoming drama Time between Dog and Wolf. The other guy isn’t hard on the eyes either, btw.

Yummy here )

I was reading the ProDai thread on soompi and there are insane people therw who think it would be OK if Ken and rei do not end up together as long as he still learns life lessons.

Nononononono. Here is where I go rabid shipper on them. Seriously.

Rabid.

Plus, come on, Yamapi deserves to have at least one drama where he ends up with the girl. (People on d-addicts are a lot more in line with my thinking :D)

Oh, and Witch Yoo Hee just ended which means it’s my next marathon series. I checked the ending just to see it ended the way I like. The shippers are complaining that it’s too rushed and it probably is no Delightful Girl Chun-Hyang but I don’t care. My OTP got together. I don’t care how rushed. Eeeee! And there is angst and sweetness. *dies*

Gleeeeeeee.

So I bring you oodles of spoilery and non-spoilery Witch Yoo Hee pics.

I mean, how can you resist this:

Moo-Ryong, please move into my house to cook for me and organize my wardrobe and find suitable prospects for dating for me. Please?

Pics, glorious pics )

*meep* because of huge drama schedule I haven’t had time to really get into Hello Miss yet (am so behind on all viewing) but these caps from ep 15 look adorable

Kdrama sweetness behind cut )

Am happy now and I didn’t even watch most of this drama yet.

Since Love Story in Harvard appears, while angsty at times and uber-romantic, to be an upbeat drama overall, I am considering which angsty one to watch next after the current batch. I am alternating Taiyou No Kisetsu (most likely winner, as I planned to watch it forever plus Takki!) or newly arrived Something Happened in Bali otherwise known as spoiler for the end )

I have watched more of Love Story in Harvard and all I can say is their grasp of law school is quite wonky: Hyon-Woo is taking a contracts class but needs help (and thus hires Soo-In) for a malpractice case for it, which is a torts subject if anything, and then speaks up and wins his Prof’s respect (and thanks Soo-In for helping with the answer) with a constructive discharge question which is either employment or labor law. WTF? Ehhh, whatever. KRW looks so adorable once he finally wins through that I don’t care and the only coherent thought left in my head is ‘I’ll tutor you, KRW! I might not be a minisetring to AIDS patients Korean beauty, but I’ll do it for free!’ :P

Oh, and found this pic from some upcoming ep of Witch Yoo Hee:

and it’s cute and all but I cannot concentrate as it’s the exact jacket Jae Hee wore in Delightful Girl Chun0Hyang in the bus stop scene (don’t want to be spoilery but it’s one of my fave scenes ever) so my brain just goes into DGCH nostalgia mode!

And last but not least, I am incredibly excited. Apparently, not only is there a sub group forming to sub Mike He's Marry Me but the awesome DoReMi fansubs have picked up *hyperventilates* Vic Zhou's Love Storm for subbing. Vic is my favorite drama actor hands down and I wanted to see LS for ages. I even own the unsubbed DVDs and watched bits but OMG OMG OMG subs. Yeah, the plot might be 'love traingle' or what not and he's gotten better between then and Mars but I don't care. Because he looks GORGEOUS and he protects the heroine with his own body when the bad guy shoots the gun and there is hurt/comfort and happy endings and awesomeness.

YES.

And to add on another awesome note? Short preview for Bambino, Matsumoto Jun's new upcoming drama!

I just found out (thanks [livejournal.com profile] catdecember) that Witch Yoo Hee is by the same team as did My Girl and Delightful Girl Chun-Hyang.

OMG OMG! I am even more excited now because it means that WYH will continue to be funny, the OTP(s) will be amazing, and that there will be some angst that will make me bawl and scenes that will continue to make me die of glee.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714 just informed me that Takki's Romeo & Juliet special is out. She very kindly linked me to a torrent but d-addicts torrents are something I only use a last resort because they take forever and work only half the time. So *begs, puppy eyes* anyone have any other links? Clubbox? MU? SS? Anything?

P.S. Note to self. Remember to watch Byakkotai. Yamapi >>>>> everything in jdramas except Kimura Takuya.
