This post is mainly a giant collection of recs.

[livejournal.com profile] aliterati has a great post on Krrish and one comparing Fiza and Mission Kashmir. And speaking of Hrithik, below are a bunch of links to an interview Hrithik did with Simi Garewal (who acts like a Hedda Hopper, and looks like a plasticized mummy, I swear). The whole thing is worth checking out for the unbelievably cheesetastic credits alone, but it's even more worth it for the fact that Hrithik appears to be polite and quiet-spoken, rocks his pink shirt and dark suit, and almost induces a sugar coma in me when (in response to Simi asking him if he knows anyone that's perfect (they have a discussion about perfectionism)) he replies that whoever coined the phrase "Nobody's perfect" hadn't met his wife Suzanne because she is perfect and he is all beamy and looks like a little kid. Either he is a better actor than I give him credit for (possible) or its totally awwwwww-inducing. The whole interview in English and seriously, think of old type Hollywood stuff. Such a throwback thing. Plus, he is fucking hot and sweet, even if not the brightest crayon in the box. And then Suzanne comes out and they have a double interview (it starts with the second youtube link) and I am dead of the cute. Seriously. And it includes the worst, cheesiest poems ever written by man. And the cheesiest most adorable wedding videos. I swear. The whole thing is cheesetastic and irresistable. I am still cracking up at Suzanne's comment that it's the biggest high when all these women went crazy for Hrithik because there all these women who want him and he loves you. Such a girl thing to say. I do have to agree that Suzanne is very beautiful. Very pale though. Is she anemic or something? (btw, [livejournal.com profile] crumpeteer, Zayed Khan is Suzanne's brother. How bizarre. Everyone is interrelated in Bollywood). And either she is slouching in a bizarre fashion or she is already pregnant in this shoot. When was it done anyway? ETA: yup, pregnant.

Tech stuff: PG-13, 1315 words, spoilers through 2.22

Summary: A look at women in Logan's life: Lynn, Lilly, Caitlin, Kendall, Hannah. You get the idea. Ultimately L/V.

In the latest Veronica Mars fic round-up, I have three fics to recommend: Shuffle (Greatest Hits of 1966), an excellent and unusual post 2.22 story (if you are interested in ships, it's L/V), and The thing about Logan, a wondeful L/V fic that makes me so happy. There is also Bad Boys Break Fast, which is a delightful take on Logan cooking breakfast in 2.22.

Oh, and this morning? Chosen short shot of angst to get me going for the day? An ep from Season 1 of One Tree Hill, the horrid cheesefest that I can't help but be addicted to. CMM annoys the heck out of me, and I think Peyton and Brooke should be tied together and thrown off a boat, but I love me some Nathan/Haley (see Previous picspam and post on them). The show itself might be an evening version of daytime soap (OTH does not even try to transcend the teen genre or stand out the way Buffy or VM or Roswell), but the Nathan/Haley thing is what keeps me watching: they do have genuine chemistry and are awfully sweet together (I haven't seen most of S2, apparently the ship gets really messed with. Netflix is to the rescue, so we shall see). It starts out as a general cliche of a jerky rich jock and a grounded Miss Study but becomes a lot more fun (though no less cliche) as Nathan recieves enough angst for a small elephant and the whole thing is adorable. So I watched the bit where he comes into her roof after almost keeling over and tells her how much she means to him blah blah. Cheese, I love you.

I am reading Tanith Lee's The Gods are Thirsty, a novel about Camille Desmoulins and it's excellent. It has this unique, poetic writing style I love. She switches narrative persons with each chapter yet somehow it works. This has nothing in common with The Silver Metal Lover, the other book of hers I read except for the style. I think I am going to read much much more of her, now. [livejournal.com profile] aliterati, not much on Robespierre so far (Camille does mention something about following him to Hell. I think he means moral Hell as otherwise his chornology doesn't work), but you'd love the bit where he mentioned that Robespierre loved roses, and so Saint-Just used to bring them to him by the armful, "like a young bride."

Because it should be recced, [livejournal.com profile] mimesh, did a humongous Hayden Christensen picspam. Go here.

And I've finished Creezy. It's not bad but it's flawed. Creezy thoughts )

Next movie on the list to watch is Musa: The Warrior, a Korean period action film. I am not sure what it's about but it looks beautiful and stars Zhang Ziyi.

A multitude of Musa pics )

And more Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna stills came out KANK goodness behind cut )

I am trying to unearth my Veronica Mars season 2 tapes (yes, I am a luddite. I use VCRs). It would help if I labeled them, but I have such an urge to rewatch S2. It's interesting to me, because I love the characters, and the snark, and the mysteries, but I never get really involved unless there is Logan/Veronica stuff. I guess it helps give me an emotional connection.

Other really cool VM stuff )

I mentioned last week that my favorite ever scene in Roswell is that scene in 'Destiny' where Liz and Max (the world's hottest alien), on the run from the FBI, spend the night hiding in an abandoned truck. Basically, Liz finds out exactly just what horrible things Agent Pierce & Co. did to Max and, horrified and blaming herself, tells him she wishes she could go back in time and prevent him from saving her life because that's when his 'just ended' and he tells her that this is when his life began and what kept him alive was thinking of her and that he loves her. And there is desperateness, and hugging and his holding on for dear life and her kissing his palm. We shall not even get into their jumping off the bridge together preferring death to capture. My high school life was thankfully more peaceful. Anyhow, thanks to the lovely [livejournal.com profile] cosmicviolet's link to "Striped Wall," I bring you caps of that scene. If you like angst, OTPs or hot angsty boys and girls, do clickety-click. Roswell is so TV does Bollywood. (Also, thank you everyone for fic recs. I've been loving those).

They are in order, so the most interesting ones are in the middle. The first few are a bit on the dark side.

Illegal Aliens Rule! )

And in case those were a bit too dark to see (it differs for me with differing monitors), here are a few other, bright, fave Max/Liz pics.

Romeo and Juliet this, baby! )

And just for [livejournal.com profile] crumpeteer

a.k.a. a post in which [livejournal.com profile] dangermousie brings you the latest fics in her latest fandoms that caught her attention. If you know me, you know these are likely to be angsty and, if shippy, canon-compliant.

Veronica Mars

A Better Girlfriend than a Sister. Duncan/Veronica. Not that way.

Tangled Veronica/Logan. Sorta Au near end of S1.

Optican Illusion in Black and White a look at a certain scene in "Rat Saw God" V/L sorta.

Whispered Everywhere Effects of Lilly's murder and Veronica's rape on everyone. Warning, NC-17

Dark Angel

Miles a heartbreaking Logan/Max story.

Driftwood M/L end of the world. I know I overuse the term, but it really reads like poetry.

Scattered a Logan story. And it's not hideously angsty either.

Humidity Alec angst. Elegant, amazingly written angst.

Chrome More Alec angst. I love the sense of isolation and acceptance in this one.

Farscape

The Changeling Post PKW, a really dark, really beautiful story about Crichton falling apart (and no, it's not Dark!fic, despite what it seems like in the first part).

Battlestar Galactica

Reckoning A Helo and Chief story post-Pegasus. Frakking brilliant.

A Girl to Follow Around Kara, Helo, Anders, Lee. Sorta. The best Kara and Helo fic I've read (not in a shippy sense).

One Taste of the Apple a Kara and Lee in the Academy fic. [livejournal.com profile] brynmck is one of my fave BSG writers for a reason.

Also, two VM fic recs.

This Duncan and Logan fic (shades of V/D and L/V) took my breath away. It's AU (what is Veronica had been on that bus and ended up doing a Meg) and it's the best VM fic I've read in weeks. Hypothetical.
