1. So, I finally got to the break-up scene in Bu Bu Jing Xin. Thinky thinky thinky )

2. When I stopped with my watch of K.O. 3an Guo, I stopped with ep 37. However, it was a while, so when starting my binge, I went a few eps back, and restarted my watch with ep 34-35. In which we have Guan Yu defending the honor of his "Big Sister-in-Law" Shang Xiang (and losing for the first time ever!), an apprearance by Sun Quan (played by the awesome Xie Jie Kai), a blessed lack of Dong Zhuo and Lu Bu (who are getting on my nerves lately) and a LOT of handholding. A LOT.

Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaps )

3. My Girlfriend is a Gumiho continues so wonderful. The last scene in ep 8 took my breath away.

Scene here )

4. So, The Princess' Man. I confess to neglecting it for a bit due to my obsession with BBJX, but now I am back on track. I watched ep 17 and peeked at one specific scene in ep 20.

Thoughts and caps )

5. While waiting for subs for Sword Heroes' Fate, I peeked at ep 31, where Nic Tse finally succeeds getting the amulet that will restore Charlene's memories and idenity. AWWWW. Gosh. Though I wish there was an easier way to rekindle a spark in their relationship than battles to the death (wtf is with the bad guy anyway - what kind of psycho traps a bunch of people in a violent sim game and wipes a woman's memories and personality just so he could lure her bf in for a gamer battle? Honestly).

Shippy awesomeness here )

6. Once I finish with KO 3an Guo, I really must continue with The X-Family. I stopped on ep 6 because it's a prequel of sorts to KO 3an Guo and thus was getting confusing. Have a MV. It's very shounen-like and I like that sort of thing.

Randomly scouring viki, I came across the 2011 Nicholas Tse/Charlene Choi fantasy drama Sword Heroes Fate [sic]. Now, you may not realize it, but I have an utterly irrational obsession with Nic Tse. There are a bunch of actors I like better, but there isn't any other actor where I will watch a drama from beginning to end simply because he's in it, whether I like the drama itself or not. I am not sure whether it's the hotness (stick the man in a wuxia, give him a sword and long hair, and he looks utterly at home) or the fact that he was the star of very first wuxia drama I've ever seen (Handsome Siblings, about which more below) and I've imprinted, like a baby duck.

Anyway, SHF is huge huge fun! It starts out in 2030, where Nic and Charlene are a long-time couple whose relationship is on the skids. But it is all about to change when the company where Charlene works unveils a new virtual reality game - you can 'transform' into an ancient Tang person (while keeping your memories and personality, of course) and play the game as if you are in it. Only while Charlene and Nic are both in it during the trial run, a mysterious bad guy (hint: it's the cute puppy guy who makes dolls for orphans in his spare time, LOL) blocks the players from exiting the game so they are trapped. Not only that, but he causes Charlene to lose her memories so she now believes she is her Tang persona - a famous period beauty who has no memories of Nic and their life together. So now Nic must find a magical jade in hopes it will restore her memories. Oh, and Charlene becomes Nic's enemy and a member of an evil cult. Not sure what else will go on but I am sure Nic will be stoic yet angsty and people will get stabbed. Guys, couples' therapy would have been so much easier, honest!

Have a trailer:

Anyway, I watched the first ep and it was a great deal of fun when, to my horror, I realized that only the first ep was subbed so far. Nooooo!!!! *wail wail wail* So I decided to sate my Nic craving by digging out their 2007 drama The Spirit of the Sword. I saw the first ep of TSotS ages ago and really liked it. My cdrama list is getting more and more insane. Have a cute MV from that drama:

And since we are on it, have a MV of Handsome Siblings, Nic/Fan Bing Bing couple. The drama itself is hugely uneven (the Dicky Cheung storyline made me want to kill things) but NT/FBB were totally amazing and are still one of my favorite otps of all time - he's an angsty assassin forbidden to love, she is a tough sane fighter girl who makes him break that rule, angst angst shippiness amazing insane evil parents (his adopted mother still takes the cake for the most psycho drama parent), plus more awesomeness.

I adore Concubine Xi. She's my favorite female character except for our heroine, Qing Chuan. Because she's ruthless and smart and awesome. I bet she won't come to a good end (not a spoiler just speculation based on the fact that historically nobody came out happy out of this except for Four) but for now, rock on, lady!!!!

Quick thoughts on first 15 minutes )

Off to watch more.

In news of other cdramas I want to watch, here's a trailer for the upcoming Sword Heroes' Fate with Nic Tse and Charlene Choi. I don't know if it's because he starred in the very first wuxia drama I've ever seen or some other reason, but for whatever reason, I cannot not watch any wuxia Nic Tse makes, good bad or indifferent. (I am probably one of the only five people who genuinely liked Da Ren Wu!)

1. A hugely epic adapation of the Chinese classic The Water Margin is coming out later this year/early 2011. I am not familiar with the source book, but the trailer makes it look part-wuxia and part-Lord of the Rings. And how could anyone go wrong with that?

Half an hour subbed trailer of awesomeness )

2. Not like I needed it to get stoked, but there is also a longer, 15 min trailer for Fight and Love with a Terracotta Warrior. Both this and Water Margin star Ady An? Coincidence? I think not, more likely proof of her awesomeness. I want to watch this so badly I can almost taste it. Long and awesome trailer here )

3. Last but not least, my penultimate wuxia crush Nic Tse (sorry, Nic, but Hu Ge is my N1) has a new drama coming out - Sword Heroes' Fate. The plot: Nicholas Tse plays the part of Zhao Xiao Zhao and Charlene Choi plays the part of Xiao Ye Zi. The two play fiancees in modern day, but the two are separated by time and space and cannot stay together. Nicholas Tse has no choice but to give up his reality, enter the Tang dynasty years, duel with experts at every step of the way, in order to obtain the "Nine Day Mysterious Jade," and reunite with his fiancee.

Charlene Choi is Nicholas Tse's sweetheart, and as the Tang dynasty's gentle and soft number one beauty. Afterwards, due to a misunderstanding that arises with Zhao Xiao Zhao, she accidently becomes a member of an evil cult, masters of a unique martial arts. But deep in her heart, she stil loves Zhao Xiao Zhao.

LOL - this sounds fantastically entertaining.

I will be very entertained :P
