Seeing that I spent the last 8 eps of Which Star Are You From (am on ep 9 and am adoring it as much as ever) in a state of lust fascination over Kim Rae Won, I went digging around for more KRW stuff and stumbled on Say You Love Me, an earlier drama he did. I wanted to watch it a while ago but then forgot, even if the plot sounded super-fun: a young unworldly couple brought up by Buddhist monks (!!!) crosses paths with a 'woman of the world' who objects to seeing pure love around so she sets out to wreck them and to seduce KRW. Cougars FTW!

Well, trying to find things on it on youtube, I stumbled on this scene which made me SQUEE in glee at the dirtybadwrongness of it all and the delicious cheese. Also, I didn't know you could do this stuff in a kdrama. Short summary of the scene: Mrs Cougar sets out to have Mr. Brought Up By Monks' virginity and succeeds, rather against his will (but not entirely).

Heeee.

I am so going to enjoy it for all the wrong reasons. But must finish WSAYF first.

I checked my DVDs of kdrama Say You Love Me (to see that they work) and...

*swooooooooon*

The subs are iffy (but understandable) as it's one of those Chinese box sets, but then there have never been fansubs for it or proper English language release, but I don't care!!!

I watched the ending and EEEEEEE!!!!!

Kim Rae Won is so gorgeous.

And there is desperate running, and reunion of the OTP after years of separation and her asking him why he doesn't wear the necklace (it's actually a string with some sort of Buddhist symbol on it. They were brought up by Buddhist monks *glee*) and he is alltentatively 'I wanted you to help me put it on' and she does and then they just hug and hold on for dear life and they are borderline weeping but not quite and EEEEEE!

I mainly got it for the deliciously angsty yummy plot of two young, 'pure' childhood lovers (KRW and the leading lady) who end up being broken up (apparently temporarily) because they come into the big bad world and this successful but unfulfulled businesswoman with her sharky off-on-boyfriend sees them as a sort of slap in the face to herself, so she sends bf after the girl and sets out to get KRW herself (not out of love or anything). EEEE.

But I am good and not watching until I finish my current roster.

First off, a few questions about some of the lesser known dramas out there. First off, Takki’s Antique. Yay or nay? Any good?

Second, I don’t think anyone on my flist except [livejournal.com profile] tatterpunk has seen the jdrama Brand, but it doesn’t hurt to ask. Happy ending or not?

Third, I got my DVDs of Say You Love Me kdrama in. I got it mainly because I have KRW fever, but also its ‘Dangerous Liasons’ type storyline appeals to me. Basically, Evil Woman (EW) is a successful but ruthless producer who doesn’t really feel. Her bf, Evil Guy (EG) is totally her lapdog. Into their lives enter our OTP, played by KRW and New Lady (NL). They are young and sweet and in love and they’ve known each other since childhood and they are horribly pure. So EW can’t bear the purity/goodness stuff, so she gets EG to try to take NL away from KRW and to seduce KRW herself. And she succeeds! At one point she apparently backs poor KRW into a corner and traps him and forces herself on him…heh. Poor guy. His first time too ;P Angst and angst and angst follows as his NL is clearly not happy and leaves him for good. But never fear, I peeked. Happy ending ;) Anyway, I am a sick girl, but I am too lazy to ff and I won’t get to the drama itself properly for a while. Any idea which ep the scene of KRW and EW happens? Please :P

I am really enjoying Love Story in Harvard. Interestingly, the development of the love story itself seems very realistic. They go on dates (some good some not) and talk and hang out and slowly get to know each other and fall for each other. Yay. And I loved the football scene SO MUCH. So playful and awesome and so perfect that Hyon-Woo finds out why Soo-In missed their earlier date (he was incredibly mad about it and told her so) and she did have a good reason, and he feels so sorry and he finally finds her and I love how he doesn’t apologize (because to do so would imply that he knows something she doesn’t want him to, even if he did learn it by accident, and also bring back bad memories for her) but is just sweet and adorable to her instead, teaching her how to throw a football, and she is puzzled but delighted and soon he actually makes her laugh. LOVE.

Btw, Kim Tae Hee, the female lead in this one, is Lee Wan’s sister in RL. How odd is that. I like her but the problem is I absolutely adore KRW in this one, so I am always puzzled that she doesn’t just swoon into his arms ;)

Also, unrelated I just found out that there will be a movie version of the Hwan Jini story coming out (with the same title). Hang Jini is apparently a legendary courtesan and so it will be a period movie. EEEE! Song Hye Kyo (female lead in Full House, I love her) is playing Jini. GUUUUUH. There is supposedly a bed scene with SHK (no idea who the partner is) *shocking :D* and it’s a period movie which is general awesomeness, so yeah. I am there ;)

Before I start. Quick comment. What is with all the recent cooking dramas lately? I am not complaining as hot guy wh can cook is even better than a hot guy in general, but it does seem odd. First there is MatsuJun playing a chef in the jdrama Bambino. Then there is the twdrama Delicious Relationship, starring arguably my favorite drama boy Vic Zhou (and he better not die in this one!!!). And then there are the kdramas. In Witch Yoo Hee, Jae Hee is a Chef *dies* and then there is the upcoming Gourmet with Kim Rae Won where he also plays a chef. Hmmm. I like this trend.

I am considering checking a whole bunch of kdramas out. More about them below, but I think the 'new' kdrama for me will either be My Love Patzzi (it's only 10 eps and fluffy and I have a Kim Rae Won craving), Let's Go to the Beach ([livejournal.com profile] alexandral loved it and I adore Lee Wan) or Smile Again (it sounds cute and stars Lee Dong Gun).

I dare you not to grin looking at this pic )

And after that, the next kdrama is Save the Last Dance for Me and Stained Glass as I want something utterly utterly fluffy right now so it will have to wait a week or so.

But anyway, dramas I am considering obtaining, with corresponding MVs.

As you see, a lot of numbers for some reason.

My Sister in Law is 19. It has cute boys, cracktastic fun and angst, too. The plot? Our hero is horrified to discover that the girl he has long been in love with has just gotten engaged to his older brother. He doesn't know it's an arranged agreement so she'd have money for her poor family and he'd be free of Mom's nagging to marry. So CUTE!

Vid for it )

Then there is Sweet 18. [livejournal.com profile] calledinvain thought it was sweet, it stars Lee Dong Gun and Han Jin Hye, and hey, prosecutor forcibly married off to a much younger girl? Heeeeee.

Vid here )

Then there is Hotelier (as mentioned earlier)

Hotelier MV )

Then there is 18 vs 29 about a woman who wakes up forgetting everything that happened since she was 18. Her estranged husband tries to use this as an opportunity to win her back.

Vid here )

Then there is The Sweet Spy. A spy drama with the heroine an ass-kicking policewoman? YAY.

MV here )

Then there is Say You Love Me with Kim Rae Won, because I am on a KRW kick and hey the whole, 'bad girl tries to break up the OTP by getting her bf to seduce the girl and to seduce the guy herself because she is whack' is kinda awesome in a 'Dangerous Liasons' sort of way.

Opening theme )

There is also Life if Beautiful with Ha Ji-Won (Damo!!!) and Kim Rae Won but I didn't find any vids. I am also amused by the concept of Love Letter because heeeee, even Priests are not immune from lurve in kdramas. The hero is a Priest-in-training. Whoa.

And last note. My 'in progress' pile of dramas seems to be shrinking.

here is the list )
