I have a confession to make - RT was not at all on my radar. Nothing about its genre (romcom) or set-up (maids in a posh neighborhood) particularly appealed to me. I checked it out solely because walkwithheroes liked it and because I saw a cute still or two.
I had zip expectations.
But after two episodes, I am in like! It is certainly quirky and off-beat and different (it is one of the beyond-rare romcoms where I have NO idea where the story is going to go or what's going to happen). The vibe reminds me of a jdrama, seen through a kdrama prism. The pace is zippy, which is a bonus.
The cast is also great - Sung Yuri, one of my all-time faves, is rocking the leading role, as a tough, common-sense, awesome heroine. And she and her leading man, Jung Kyu Won (who I have not seen in anything before but must remedy that pronto - he's funny and charming and fiiiiiiine) have ridicuous chemistry. The drama gets 100x more fun when they are together.
So - to sum it up: check it out! I don't think there will be much angst or high dramatics, and it's not really a drama that will revolutionize Hallyu or anything, but it's frothy, warm fun. I might *gasp* like it even more than Best Love, though not as much as Gisaeng and My Heart which reign supreme with me, as far as airing kdramas go - I simply am more of a family drama/revenge/melo type.
Need more persuasion? How about that:
