I am reading Jilly Cooper's Wicked (short version - fancy prep school merges with worst school in the county, chaos ensues) and I have decided that Dora Belvedon pretty much wins the 'ballsiest 15-yr-old ever' award.

Consider:

She gets taken away by Mommy's creeptastic, child-molesting, rapist boyfriend (yeah, Mommy knows how to pick 'em). He tries to rape her and she manages to fight him off, so (because he's not the sharpest tool in the shed and an utter psycho), he tries to convince her to cooperate by showing her a video of her boyfriend being raped by a bunch of his pedo friends at a party a few years earlier (I am not sure if it's some sort of demented 'he's gay so you should get on with me' or 'it's futile to resist, girl, we've been doing it for ages' - I think both), so Dora manages to sic her dog on him and then after some more fighting gets her hands on a gun, holds him at gunpoint, finds his secret stash of coke and calls the cops. And she busts him AND his pedo friends, and as he's being led away in handcuffs, she tells him something to the effect of "and that's what you get for raping my boyfriend."

OMFG, she is so fucking awesome. I bet she's going to be a superhero when she grows up.

Seriously. DORA = MORE AWESOME THAN THE WORLD CAN CONTAIN.

(From official MV for the drama ergo unspoilery, but let me know if you want me to cut it).

Did I mention they are both spies in a super-secret organization where relationships are forbidden? or that they are both superhandy with guns?

This was made for me.

(I shared this with darkeyedwolf and then decided to share with the rest).

I am spamming, sorry.

But why did nobody tell me the IRIS trailer was out (here it is, grainy quality but with subs).

*brb dying*

Spies. In love. Angsty assassins. Tough ladies. Things blowing up. Angst. Guns.

Whoa YES.

Because the Korean adaptation of Hana Yori Dango is beginning to piss me off so much, here is a jdrama MV or two to cheer self up.

General:

Shippy:

Seriously, I know I've raved both about the twdrama and the jdrama before but it bears repeating: except for Mars, the Japanese adaptation of Hanadan is the best manga adaptation I have ever seen - it manages to be true to the spirit without being true to the letter. Oh God, how I miss Makino who had a spine of steel and Domyouji who was uncontrollable and fixated on Makino. GRRRR.

After [livejournal.com profile] filmi_girl and I finish Meteor Garden, am so rewatching both seasons of Hanadan. How come the whole fiancee thing and Domyouji temporarily distancing himself thing were so not annoying in the jdrama but are horrible in the kdrama? For one, neither was near as drawn out, and for another you saw how unfunctional the OTP was without each other - Jun Pyo is functioning OK while Domyouji was in nervous break-down land. And he was never such a bastard about breaking up either - and his reason was so much more valid. And Makino didn't solely mope all day.

Where is my rain scene, K-Hanadan, where? Or, if you are stealing from the jdrama instead (as you are, unsuccessfully) where is my scene of Domyouji kneeling to Rui, begging Rui to let Makino go? Ah yes, same places where the OTP's spines went - location unknown.

OK. I better stop or my bitterness will get me.

Am watching ep 19 of Boys Over Flowers.

I confess by now I am only in it for Woo Bin and Ji Hoo. The rest of them can go hang themselves. I am so over the stupid love quadrangle of doom - especially since so many scenes are to show the compatibility of not the ostensible canon OTP but the alterna OTPs of Ji Hoo/Jandi and Jun Pyo/fiancee (they really do get along perfectly well, don't they?)

Ji Hoo angst in this ep is basically off the scales. WTF? It's OK to torment a character so much if you know he is going to get a happy ending or at least the love of the heroine, but since we aren't going to get either, it's just gratuitous and idiotic - especially since it's making my heart go out to him even more. By now he basically outclasses Jun Pyo in everything, desirability as a dating prospect included (for one thing, he actually pays attention to what Jandi wants, as opposed to inviting himself over for dinner and eating all of the poor girl's food. Ahahaha, cute. Not). Must he outclass him in angst, too? Jun Pyo now looks even more like a useless spoiled wimp.

I am so over JP/Jandi btw! If I want to watch an angsty bad boy/poor good girl romance, I'll watch Yi Jung/Ga Eul instead. For one thing, Yi Jung's angst is entertaining and for another, Ga Eul has a spine. Can we please have a drama about them instead? Now, there is a dysfunctional couple I would have fun following!

Look at their date from hell. Yi Jung's emo is actually entertaining and Ga Eul won't put with his crap. Learn, Jandi and Jun Pyo, please )

At this point, BOF is utter trainwreck...I say we just leave Jun Pyo and his fiancee together (and off my screen), have Jandi hook up with Ji Hoo and have a peaceful life to recover some spunk, and have Woo Bin, Yi Jung, and Ga Eul have a very hot threesome.
