I think everyone knows the phrase 'Kill them all and let God sort them out.'

Well, I just found out who originated it and how.

It is from the Albigensian Crusade, 13th century. That Crusade was the effort by the Pope to stamp out Cathars, who the Pope considered heretcs. The Papal legate Arnaud-Amaury said it when asked by the Crusaders how to distinguish between good Catholics and Cathars, after Crusaders took the town of Beziers (Caedite eos! Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius). So the Crusaders massacred the whole French town of Beziers (7 to 20 thousand people) because it had 500 Cathars in it.

Yeah.

I don't know why, because it happened in 13th century, but things like that make me really angry. So consider it my pointless indignation post.

People who are all 'wasn't the time of chivalry glorious, I want myself a knight' must be singularly deluded.
