Well, to be more specific, my American TV is limited to Futurama, The Borgias, Boardwalk Empire and Burn Notice. Ahhhh, Burn Notice. No dramas for me tonight because Mr. Mousie and I spent some time catching up on some of S5. I really do adore this show and keep adoring it. For a wide variety of reasons, but one of them is this:

I just wanted to post the caps :P Ahhh, Michael and Fiona. They are pretty much my sole currently airing Western show ship. They are so dysfunctionally functional. With guns. Plus, I love BN for going against conventional wisdom that couples can never get together - they've been together for the last couple of seasons and it works works works.

Because I like mvs, have one:

Mr. Mousie and I finished all the existing eps of Burn Notice and now have to wait a week for the next, like normal people.

Boo on waiting! I am totally addicted - it's going on my all-time faves list.

So we decided to check out White Collar to compensate.

The pilot was beyond hilarious and priceless. We'll definitely keep up.

As soon as I posted that very long post about how I don't find Gun Wook relatable or sympathetic or even too interesting, comes ep 7 and BAM! I am a goner. The story finally allows him to be vulnerable and hurt and confused and all of a sudden his chemistry with Jae In starts sizzling and GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH KIM NAM GIL, ILY. (He seems to have a niche in intense screw-ups, doesn't he?)

Shipping state is as follows - when Jae In is with Gun Wook, I ship her with Gun Wook. When Jae In is with Tae Sung, I ship her with Tae Sung. Well, at least that means I'll be happy whoever she ends up with unless the drama gives us the infamous Bali ending :)

Caps from two scenes )

Still not that interested in revenge though :)

In other news, eagle-eyed KHJ fangirls got this pic from filming of Mischievous Kiss. EEEEEEEEEEEE! He looks perfect and so does the heroine (I am assuming it's her).

In last news, just started S3 of Burn Notice and so good. Though if you were cutting your wrists and further injuring self by jumping through a glass, perhaps jumping into filthy water isn't the healthiest? I suppose a better option than death.

Am now through 2/3 of s2 and I continue to really really love Burn Notice. I have yet to see a bad ep. Plus, the show has explosions AND makes me laugh. Perfect combo. Oh, and Michael Westen is a fictional type I really like - competent and in control (but when he loses it, he's really scary). Plus, the beach! I want to go to the beach now!

Have an unusually shippy pic (this show has really little shipping).

In honor of this, have this cracktastic Michael/Fiona vid. It's off-kilter and makes me giggle, the same reaction I get from Burn Notice itself.

In case you prefer your shippy MVs less cracky and with fewer guns )

It's official, I am so obsessed with this show. I don't even feel like *gasp* watching a drama, I just want to watch BN. But it's a collective activity for me and Mr Mousie and so I have to wait. *gnaws hand off to the elbow*

Like all my favorite Western shows, it has (a) tough guys and gals; (b) lack of whining*; (c) violence; (d) it's really really funny.

* BN's characters may have dysfunctional backstories and/or circumstances but that stuff is in the background and under the surface, not being wallowed in. I especially appreciate it after my beloved kdramas with the angst-train which never stops - I bet if this was a kdrama, we'd get lengthy flashbacks to Michael's nasty childhood and it would turn out Fiona had a little sister who was murdered or similar. And they'd possibly be stepsiblings. And there would be snow.

Plus, Miami!

I LOVE MIAMI.

I AM SO ADDICTED.

I am even looking for icons.

P.S. Yes, I give up - in case you haven't figured it out by now, I have officially become a Michael/Fiona shipper. They are so awesome together and have so much chemistry and are so complimentarily damaged. But mainly it's because I shudder at the thought of either one of them with anyone normal - he's a commitment phobe and she is a violence addict. Not to mention both of them are adrenaline junkies with penchant for major firepower.

ETA: Hmmm, I am noting a troubling pattern in my Western TV ships - John/Aeryn (Farscape) - good at combat, Hero/Athena (BSG) - good at combat, Kara/Lee and then Kara/Sam (BSG) - ditto; Buffy/Angel (BtVS) - good at combat; Doctor/Rose (DW) -destroyed whole planets; Mal/Inara (Firefly) - well, Mal is good at combat :P. And now BN. I am not a psychopath really. Honest.

Ummm, Veronica/Logan? No deaths. Only tazers and punching involved.

I am digging the hole deeper and deeper, aren't I?

It is an utter and total love.

Seriously.

I have not been this in love with a Western show in YEARS.

Also, loling forever at Michael's birthday present to Fiona. Awwwww, a gun with a red bow on top! What every girl wants! Made even better by the fact that it IS exactly what she wants.

Heeeee. They should totally be together because they are too psycho for anyone else.

I am beginning to realize that I am unhealthily obsessed with this show, seeing that I was dreaming about it tonight.

But it's so funny and clever and I've fallen in love with the characters, and there is an underpinning of dysfunction and angst, even if it's never on the surface. Who can resist?

I love it so much even though anything shippy is so slight as to be almost nonexistent. If that doesn't prove my obsession levels, seeing that I am normally shipper extraordinaire, I don't know what does.

Am only through ep 5 of first season as Mr Mousie is not as obsessive as I am :)
