1. I am following 4 dramas this season. That's insane! Previously, the most I have done is 2.

2. Look what we get in today's ep of Cinderella Unni:

*sigh*

3. Personal Taste ep 2 was much better than ep 1. I have hopes for this drama. If only I liked the heroine a bit more. I do adore her best friend who is a total yaoi fangirl, going giddy at the thought of being able to listen in to two hot guys making out. LOLOL. And Lee Min Ho's face when he realizes heroine thinks he's gay. Aahahahahaha.

4. Speaking of dramas I adore, this was the ending scene of ep 6 of Oh My Lady:

Scene behind cut )

5. I am amused that of all M/T or W/R dramas, the one that has best ratings is Birth of the Rich which is the only one nobody I know is watching :P

1. You guys, I just realized that somewhere in that really really long synopsis for Road Number 1, they promise me "passionate lovemaking" by the OTP when they hide in an abandoned building! With the hero on one-day military leave in the middle of war! While they are hiding from her former fiancee!

*is dead now*

2. I ship them already. Can Bad Guy be here sooner?

I plan to check out all three of the starting Wed/Thurs dramas, am enjoying Oh My Lady and want to watch Dong Yi and Birth of the Rich.

But nothing gets my excitement pumping the way the summer dramas do: Bad Guy, Road No. 1, Kim Soo Ro, (a period drama about a warrior city founder starring my total obsessive crush Ji Sung! And reuniting him with his Swallow the Sun costar Yoo Oh Sung who played Jackson in StS and became a big crush), What's Up (Im Ju Hwan!), Comrade (another Korean war drama), My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox (Hong Sisters and Lee Seung Gi = love).

Ahhhh.

For the record, we are only 3 months into 2010 and I have already loved the following dramas: Chuno, Pick the Stars, Oh My Lady, Will It Snow on Christmas, The Reputable Family and liked what I've seen of Jejjongwon and Pasta as well. Good year!

The first new spring drama, Birth of the Rich, is out and it's a total delight!

Starring Ji Hyun Woo (Invincible Lee Pyung Kang) and Lee Bo Young (Save the Last Dance), Birth is a light story set in the chaebol world. (For those who do not know, chaebol is a term for both Korean family-owned large corporations and the family members who own them).

Our hero is someone who is a result of a one-night stand his mother had with a chaebol. Unfortunately, she has never gotten the man's name and (due to an accident) lost any means of getting in touch with him so Hero grew up fatherless, broke, hard-working, cheerful, and incredibly optimistic he is going to find his rich daddy some day. He is basically a male Cinderella - dead-set on living the life he knows he is owed. Currently, however, he is working as a bellhop in a fancy hotel because that is his means of meeting many a chaebol and trying to match a medallion he has (the only legacy of his long-lost Daddy).

Heroine is a chaebol's daughter. Competend and whip-smart, she is laboring against the fact that her father views women as unable to run a business - since she wants to inherit/run any business she can, she works extra hard. She is also someone who knows the value of money (a.k.a. stingy) - it's going dutch on dates, cheap vending machine coffee and meals made out of free samples.

Our hero and heroine cross paths and the story goes from there...

The first ep is out (you can watch it on viikii, it has no region restrictions) and it's a funny, breezy delight. It moves fast, it introduces you to its likeable characters in a great way, and it's just cheeky and smart and funny (the ep is worth watching for the scene of hero's mom and dad meeting as recounted by him, alone).

This was a drama I meant to check out but I had no expectations - I liked the cast but the story seemed so-so. But I am very very glad to be proven wrong.
