Apparently people write Chuck/Morgan slash. I need to go and hide now. (I have nothing against slash, but the thought of anyone of any gender getting hot and heavy with Morgan is...eeeeeeek. Do not want!)

Also, Haven fandom seems to be obsessed with threesomes. I suppose that's one way to resolve shipping dilemmas...

Ummm...yeah. I've spent the entire evening, once Baby Mousie went to bed, reading fic. More specifically, Finnick/Annie fic. No surprise there - if you know my preferences, you know I'd be all over that ship like a loon.

Anywho, here are two Finnick/Annie fic recs - both long and both are R/NC-17 for pretty obvious reasons.

Treading Water by the awesome [livejournal.com profile] sabaceanbabe. She used to write awesome Farscape stuff and I am glad to see she's just as good in other fandoms.

Scylla and Charybdis by [livejournal.com profile] puella_nerdii (who wins for the most awesome user name ever. Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] littledelusion, for the link).

This reminds me. How do I go about downloading fic on my Kindle?

I spent the bulk of my free time today wallowing in Farscape fic. Soooo good. (I was rereading all of KernilCrash's stuff). Speaking of FS fanfic, does anyone have any good recs for D'Argo/Chiana stories? There are plenty of awesome John/Aeryn ones I can find, but the D/Chi ones have been eluding me and I do so ship them. Also, gen with crew having adventures would be awesome.

Speaking of reading, may I recommend Kiss Chase by Fiona Walker? It's currently my fave chick lit book ever.

KC gets set in motion when used-to-men-swooning Saskia gets horribly dumped by her gorgeous, seemingly very devoted and ideal fiance, Felix. Devastated both by the breakup and its manner, Saskia goes a little suicidal and a little nuts and guilts her frenemy, Phoebe, into being involved in an insane plan - she will tutor Phoebe how to get Felix's heart by teaching her his likes and dislikes, in order for Phoebe to dump him in a manner as horrible as Felix dumped Saskia.

The set-up is insane but I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THE WAY THIS UNFOLDS! This is a not a typical 'sweet girl gets icy but nice guy'. Our protagonists, Phoebe and Felix, are both damaged, damaged, self-destructive people. In fact, I spent a decent chunk of the early part of the book loathing Felix and wondering how on earth I was ever going to find him worthy of anyone but by the end, I both loved and pitied him and was desperate for him and Phoebe to get together. One of the things I love is that this book explains but does not really excuse - both Phoebe and Felix had truly horrifying childhoods (even if his was worse) and that is why they can connect on a level they can't with other 'normal' people, but they choose to react to trauma differently. Phoebe locks it all up and wants relationships that are meaningless and won't ever last or become serious. Felix is obsessed with being loved and puts on any mask to get that result but then can't deal with the fact that the person doesn't love the real him. But I love that this is still not an excuse, but an explanation.

And, oh I love Phoebe. Sure, she's damaged and flawed (she is involved in a long-standing affair with a married man and can't keep a job and other things), but she's no clutzy, meek heroine chick lit loves so. She does not swoon in front of the hero or embarass herself or needs rescuing. In fact, my favorite scene is when she tells him off and he points out that if he's such a bastard, perhaps she should give him back his sweater (it must be noted, that due to a series of loony circs, she's only wearing panties underneath it). And she just takes off the sweater - in the middle of the street - and calmly gives it back to him. GO INSANE AWESOME GIRL!!!!! In fact, the reason Felix falls for her is not from any of the tips Saskia tries to give Phoebe. Phoebe never uses any of them, and he falls for her because she's strong and damaged and not impressed and doesn't let him get away with any bullshit. She knows he's a wreck and loves him anyway.

Anyway, it's an awesome awesome read and I recommend. The happy ending made me all sniffly, even if I sincerely hope they never have kids and also get therapy.

Oh, and Saskia is suuuuch a kdrama secondary girl.

Hallo, girls. Remember the back-and-forth about how awesome it would be for Nana to kiss Yoon Sung's scars better?

Well, the drama may not go there, but luckily fanfic does.

Look what I found:

http://kpopficsmeme.livejournal.com/7090.html?thread=26957746

Some amazing Anon wrote this amazing YS/Nana fic with make-outs and scar-kissing. I am in heaven!

I am sure many of you are aware of the writer Diana Gabaldon's hilarious snit-fit over discovering fanfiction. Fandom Wank has got you covered for details. Leaving aside everything else (Fanfic is like having sex with my husband! Or white slavery! Or home invasion!), I am madly amused by Ms. Gabaldon's indignation over...*gasp* ... sex scenes in fanfics based on her works, seeing that her books have scenes that put some porn to shame. Not to mention that no fanfic I ever came across in my entire life had a sex scene as downright sick and disturbing as the one in her novel Outlander (which is the only one of her books I had the misfortune to read). Yeah, this is a woman who wrote a scene where evil bisexual sadistic villain who is a dead ringer for heroine's first husband nails heroine's second husband's hand to the table and then proceeds to rape him in every way possible while also breaking his arm and also making heroine watch. While it's all described in all its (literally) gory detail. He also makes second husband climax which even in my then-limited-experience state I knew is pretty impossible unless one is a truly deranged masochist - when you have your arm broken with bone sticking out, you are NOT going to be climaxing, I am pretty sure. At that point the book went from "boring and pointless and with too many sex scenes" to "OMG, this is vile, and I also never want to meet this author in a dark alley!" So, Ms. Gabaldon, you hardly have a ground to complain. I am boggled why anyone likes your books enough to write fic about them but whatever the quality of the fic, it can't be as abysmal as the quality of your books themselves.

In other amusing news, did you know that if you have asthma, the best thing to do is smoke up?

OK, I have fallen. Comms for Friday Night Lights fic - where are they?

Also, the "Lee Byung Hun has an insane ex-girlfriend" saga continues. Apparently she gave an interview in which it came out that he didn't even promise to marry her but (I quote) "Lee Byung-hun introduced me to his friends and family and acted as if we were going to get married." Bwahahahaha. You have got to be kidding me. It means, lady, he dated you (and was serious about you if he inroduced you to people) and then later it all went to pieces and he dumped you for some reason (probably because you are INSANE and he came home to blood on the walls and possibly a boiled bunny) but I fail to see the grounds for a breach-of-promise lawsuit and/or blackmail and/or gangsters. Relationships fail every day. Move on. Possibly far far away from Korea before the enraged netizen fangirls find you and tear you limb from limb :P

I have found my favorite nu!Star Trek fic.

It's gen. Here. Heee. Heee. HEEEE. Awesome. (I love all of that writer's stuff and recommend you check it out, but that one is my favorite). Lots of McCoy never hurt. And I am a sucker for "every day" type of stuff in fic and canon - see my love for that Battlestar Galactica ep "A Day In the Life," my all-time favorite BSG ep except for glorious "33", a.k.a. best pilot for a show in the history of ever.

My favorite canon shippy fic remains the fic of awesome [livejournal.com profile] monimala. There are three of them and they are AWESOME. Here is a link to the last of the three which also links to the other two.

If anyone has GEN fic recs for nu!ST I will love you forever. I can find all the Spock/Uhura fic I can ever want on the [livejournal.com profile] spock_uhura comm (and I never read uncanonical shipping stuff) but gen fic is an elusive elusive beast even if it's my favorite one.
