My two amazing OTPs:

I was going to wait to do this until the weekend when I realized my oldest friend will be visiting this weekend, so if I wanted it done at all, I had to do it now.

Oh, and I stayed away from everyone's posts/caps/fics so as to be unspoiled. If you can please link me to your posts/caps/fics that I would have missed, I'd appreciate it.

(Thoughts and caps on these perfect episodes)

What strikes me is how domestic they are - he is putting on her bundle for her etc. And he tells her he is apprehensive to be apart from her - how far did CY come from that frozen, closed-off person who didn't even want to rest on her shoulder because it's unmanly.

I just like this shot.

He is pretty much saying his goodbyes. I love how concerned he is still over Gongmin.

I totally cracked up, btw, when I found out that Yuan wanted Eun Soo executed. Good luck keeping CY from rebelling. But that conversation with his aunt! CY is so unswerving and amazing. He can't stay no matter what it means for Gongmin, no matter that he knows he can't ever return. He is willing to give up all his future for the 20 days with Eun Soo. And it kills me, that he tells his aunt there is not much to give up as he doesn't remember anything in the palace prior to when ES showed up. If you don't give them a happy ending, drama!

New hair! I love it! It's symbolic of him giving up duty for love etc but I mainly love that the wild untamed look is back.

My favorite thing about this drama are CY/ES roadtrips so I totally got excited they are going on another one.

This scene! Their easy comfort! His checking her poison site (and the way they are so easy with touching now), the way he pats his shoulder for her to lean on (he has gotten addicted to her touch, and craves it now) and the way they cuddle into each other. The way he tells her "I trust you" when she says the poison is OK for now. She has all his faith. The way he asks her if there is anything about this world she liked and is so anxious and sad when she doesn't reply right away (asking 'anything?' again) and the way she responds that yes, it's his way of talking that she likes. They are so perfect. In a way, this trip is the first step of a complicated leave-taking, but the separation is far enough, that it's not full- on misery yet - instead, they are determined to make the best of every moment they have.

I don't have a cap of it, but it broke my heart when Gongmin forgot he let CY go and called out for him during discussion of the upcoming war.

But of course the bad guys won't leave well enough alone and now there is a manhunt. They don't know so they walk into the innn (though CY's killer instincts are sensing something is going on). There is the whole thing where she wants booze and she totally wins that argument - he really can't win ANY disagreement with her now, LOL. And how he tells her to duck when he says to and says 'duck' and she does (as I said, they trust in each other 100% now) and he takes out the whole inn of killers. And she gets up and drinks her booze and comments that their wanted posters don't look much like them (and I love that she does that, because CY needs that - he needs her not freaking out because then he'd worry for her).

I love how Nogook comes to drag Gongmin to bed and GM is all sheepish "I was about to come, promise" and she listens to his problems and then gets nauseous and he totally freaks out and is all 'my queen' (meeeelt) but it turns out she is pregnant and they are both so glowing and he is almost crying and I am in awe of how far they've come.

She looks for him but he is guarding her and is all 'go back, I will guard you.' But of course, she doesn't. And they have this amazing conversation where she asks him if he's ever done what he wanted, not what others asked him to, and he says, quietly, without any pomp 'yesterday...and today.' And I die. There is also the bit that she made him see killing differently and it means he can't protect the King, and I cheer because she has woken humanity in him, hasn't she? It's the very matter-of-fact way he says it that kills me. And then bad guys attack and she goes back in and she looks through the shutters but now it's not disgust at his killing or anything, just relief that he is all right.

She tries to teach him all sorts of things - 'aja aja' (though, tellingly, she leaves out 'fighting!'), the pinky-swear (so if you swear that way, you won't have to give your life up if you can't keep your word), the high-5. And throughout it all, he is so puzzled and amused and loving. And I realize she wants to leave him something, to help him somehow, even when she is not there any more.

He smiles at her even when they are on the run for their lives. Because they are together.

Oh God, darlings. They are functional and so happy and I know what is coming.

I just ... they are running hand in hand!

She reads a letter from her past/future self (complicated) and so looks like death when he finds her and he is so concerned she is hurt but she just wants him to hold her. And when she holds his face, OMFG. I have no words. And he holds her arm and she tells him she found that letter and it's an utterly insane story if you think about it, but he tells her "I believe it because it's you." Oh, he has so much unswerving, utter faith in her, in everything she does and says and is. They kill me.

Ummm, mind in gutter. She isn't so well, so he gets water and she drinks from his hand! Ummm, please tell me I am not the only one who found this sexy as hell. And to check if she has a fever, she touches his forehead to compare with hers (as he is kneeling at her feet, looking up at her. My heart!) I think I am in shipper heaven.

Gongmin falling to pieces because Nogook is kidnapped. It's a small preview into the hell he is going to experience 15+ years from now, only then there will be no reprieve.

She tells him they have to go back to the palace and I love how they even fight about it because each is determined to do best for the other. But is there any doubt who wins? (Also, when she matter-of-factly refers to him as 'my man' eeeeee!) And she says she will come even if there is risk of execution, and he says he'll protect her. (Interestingly, to Gi Chul if she comes back instead of running to heaven's door, it will be proof ES is a fake because he cannot conceive of disinterested goodness - that is his flaw).

Gongmin has really lost it and has to be dissuaded from jailing and torturing the Yuan envoy.

Nogook, who is so brave and smart and pure in her love, just kills me.

Oh, Gongmin.

With disgusting sociopath Deok Heung, who really enjoys power over and misery of other people more than anything. And DH is gloating and horrible and Gongmin is begging, tears in his eyes, offering the crown for Nogook despite knowing DH would just give the country to Yuan. I think this interlude really shows to him what CY must have felt (as he talks about earlier) but also shows him CY and he are the same - ready to give up anything for the one they love.

They are arguing in front of Lady Choi like a total married couple. They even give her identical looks. LOL.

He is clutching her scarf as a lifeline. Oh Gongmin.

With CY! And I love their bond, and this scene, with GM's soul laid bare, really, and CY being his strength but also saying he didn't really come back, he came back because ES wanted it, showing that ES >>> everything to him. And GM telling CY "I gave away my country" (which DH didn't take btw because he loves torturing people) and yes, he ans CY are the same.

ES = amazing.

Guuuuh! This scene! He was so dead-worried for her and then he cannot stop touching her and just - honestly, I am reduced to kindergarten level and have no words.

Gongmin haunted by Nogook, terrified she is dead.

But he still has a spine of steel and tells Yuan envoy to fuck off and that it's war. CY coming back brought his soul back to him - because CY is his soul, as much as Nogook is his heart.

I haven't cheered the way I cheered when CY rescued Nogook, in a long time.

But she lost the baby and ES has to tell that to Gongmin. And then this scene! Where CY sees her crumple and silently steps in front of her, being her wall, her shield from the world, holding her hand mutely, offering her silent comfort, letting her cry into his back.

This scene broke me. Especially how she first faces away from him but then turns into him, almost burrowing, seeking comfort, and they both cry together for their loss. I hope they slowly roast DH on a spit. (Side note - when Nogook told her evil kidnapper earlier 'I cannot die before the King' because she knew how much it would destroy GM - these two couples love and dedicate themselves to their loved one so utterly).

He offers to preemptively kill their enemies so she'd be safe but she doesn't want to, because she doesn't want him killing if he doesn't have to. She says she'll look for a safe place.

The scene where he discusses if his sword is getting to heavy - i.e., he's killed too many (and finds out his master started feeling like this before his death. I think than can absolve him of the guilt over that death?) And I hope this means there is peace in his future - a respite from blood and killing. Please please please.

Bwahahahahaha, I love how his men are all 'we have a new recruit, ummm...'

I about died. So basically, the safest place she wants to stay in for the remainder of her time in Goryo is his room? Yes please!

The Shippers are at it again! Heee!

This scene! She is all "I am staying here" and he is all "well, where would I stay" and she says "this is the General's room and you are the General" as he is slowly, purposefully, and very sexily backing her up against a wall, and they grin at each other, and I swear, he is about two seconds from tearing the armor from her and I am 100% certain there will be some sexy sexy sexy times going on right after the credits.

If there is a more perfect set of eps, I have yet to see them.

While you were busy taking care of your family, I was busy making up various scenarios for the OTP. If you check out my fics, I have about 5 I think that either happen somewhere before or right after the very suggestive ending of epi 20. You know where to find me, enjoy!

Had to shorten my reply considerably.
part I
What strikes me is how domestic they are - he is putting on her bundle for her etc. And he tells her he is apprehensive to be apart from her - how far did CY come from that frozen, closed-off person who didn't even want to rest on her shoulder because it's unmanly.
And ES talking to him whiel she changes behind a screen, if that doesn't scream married (and acting upon it) I don't know what does. They are so at ease and they take it in such stride.

And it kills me, that he tells his aunt there is not much to give up as he doesn't remember anything in the palace prior to when ES showed up. If you don't give them a happy ending, drama!
That was so sad ... esp. if you do the math ... he started out as warrior at the age of 16, and has been at it for 14 years, so that is basically half his life. Staying in the Red Moon milita for 7 years and now for 7 years as the Woodalchi commander. It breaks one heart, esp as we know from the bits and pieces that he is an educated man and must have a nobleman's upbringing.

She has all his faith. The way he asks her if there is anything about this world she liked and is so anxious and sad when she doesn't reply right away (asking 'anything?' again) and the way she responds that yes, it's his way of talking that she likes. They are so perfect.
He is so fretful when she doesn't answer right away and that confused half-smile when she tells him his way of saying things to her. I don't understand why ppl are saying that LMH is not right for the role, sure he is a limited actor who has to grow into his acting chops and hopefully will but here as CY he is perfect and spot on. That stoney surface has been cracking ever since ES turned up in his life and LMH portrays that perfectly.

broke my heart when Gongmin forgot he let CY go and called out for him during discussion of the upcoming war.
Also did you notice that the Woodalchi stillkeep their old ranks of Vice-General, Assistant General etc? It is as if CY never left.

And you can see ES' heart even opens up for him more. The things he must have endured, no wonder he was so cut off and cold and I fear that ES leaving him will totally devastate him and he will return to that frozen state even more.

That is why they need to be together - he's never had a normal happy life and to take it away from him now, just as he found it, is the height of cruelty.

part II

Ummm, mind in gutter. She isn't so well, so he gets water and she drinks from his hand! Ummm, please tell me I am not the only one who found this sexy as hell. And to check if she has a fever, she touches his forehead to compare with hers (as he is kneeling at her feet, looking up at her. My heart!) I think I am in shipper heaven.
That was just ... *guh* the knight in waiting. It was such a beautiful scene.

Gongmin has really lost it and has to be dissuaded from jailing and torturing the Yuan envoy.
I was so cheering him on, here he is not the weak king as he has refered to himself, here he is the ruler who will do anything, risk anything to get his woman back.

Guuuuh! This scene! He was so dead-worried for her and then he cannot stop touching her and just - honestly, I am reduced to kindergarten level and have no words.
It is amazing that he didn't strip her there and then to check for new puncture wounds

(Side note - when Nogook told her evil kidnapper earlier 'I cannot die before the King' [...].
And here I wonder if ES hasn't changed history. Because ES said it is too early (her pregnancy) and historically Nogook didn't become pregnant for 15+ years with no mention of previous pregnancies (which would have been recorded in the annals at least). ES already changed a lot in the Queen's daily routine, like asking Jang Bin to give her womb strengthening herbs and medicine.

The scene where he discusses if his sword is getting to heavy - i.e., he's killed too many (and finds out his master started feeling like this before his death. I think than can absolve him of the guilt over that death?) And I hope this means there is peace in his future - a respite from blood and killing. Please please please.
This scene was so important because it showed that CY is really thinking about it (and he had mentioned that he wanted to leave the king's service ot become a fisherman/farmer) but that it also is no guarantee to bring him peace of mind.

The Shippers are at it again! Heee!
That so cracked me up that they were - OF COURSE - eavesdropping.

This scene! She is all "I am staying here" [...] he is about two seconds from tearing the armor from her[...]
At the end of the BTS for ep20 they show what happens after the cut - it's hilarious and not what you expect of our loving imja couple http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rf_mXkUqYps (yay for velcro straps LOL)

I think their conversation is really important, CY needs for ES to fully understand what it means to stay with him, in his room, alone. And her comment not to run away is very ambigeous, a) she won't run away (without him) to Heaven's Gate and b) she won't run away from her feelings towards him and acting upon them.

Married. So married. And when he asked her what's taking so long when she was changing? Lol. Omg. I am going to watch the heck out of an ES/CY domestic bliss show. I love that they're so natural, so comfortable with each other.

how far did CY come from that frozen, closed-off person who didn't even want to rest on her shoulder because it's unmanly.
Too true. It's like he can't help himself and he won't stop himself any longer from showing his love for her.

He is willing to give up all his future for the 20 days with Eun Soo
It's like there's no contest at all. Spending the shortest time with ES will be worth more than anything. And it's sad that his life really is one huge black hole. It's so empty. ES changed all that so I wonder how can he go back to a life without her? THEY NEED TO BE TOGETHER! I like saying that at random times so it can come true.

but I mainly love that the wild untamed look is back.
Mmmm, yes. I never thought I'd get to see it again. Lol. Now he and ES can have wild hair parties in his room. Lol.

The way he tells her "I trust you"
Yesyes, I love this so much! They have so much faith in each other that it's making me all emotional. And the way it was his turn telling her to lean on him? Ha. I wonder if he can really let her go. As you said, he's always craving her touch now. ES's not the only one that's always reaching for him now. And I love that it's a parallel to the time she told him to lean on him. But this time it's ES's turn to scoff. Lol. And when he insisted, hee. He's such a little boy asking if there's anything she liked in this world. He's like mememememe. And as always ES is teasing him. And his smile! Aw. They are so adorable. Sigh.

he really can't win ANY disagreement with her now, LOL
Lol. Kinda been noticing that too. He can't say no to her anymore. Lol. And I love that ES's not asking "Why?" anymore. She just trusts in his word. Love the part where she thought to protect the alcohol first before pushing the killer off their table. Lol. She really loves her drink. And yes, the posters don't really look like them. I'd feel insulted like ES too. Lol. And yes, she knows how CY is such a worrywart that she knows she needs to keep it together too. And I think ES has changed and is fast becoming a woman with a heart of a warrior now.

'yesterday...and today.' And I die.
I die with you. Again, the question, how can CY let her go now?? She's given him so much and with spending the last few days with her, it will be so much harder. I love that ES's all you can leave me at the village with the portal and then you can go back to your king; I'll forgive you this time. She knows their time will be cut off, but she knows he's a warrior through and through. But he's changed too.

And I realize she wants to leave him something, to help him somehow, even when she is not there any more.
So true. It may seem like she's being flaky again but there's a deeper meaning behind all of it. Aja - meaning she wants him to never get beat down. To always get up and move forward. Pinky swear so he wouldn't have to swear on his life ever again for a promise. And high-five, for moral support between him and the king and his Woodalchi boys. (Omg. Can we see them doing that?) I love the part where they're back to him sidestepping again to stop her nonsense and when she pulled hard on his clothes to stop him. Lol. And he's all deadpan again while she's being adorable. You just know he's all "What is she doing? But she's so cute, let me just take all of her in." It's kinda sad that it's going to majorly hurt coz he's memorizing her every feature, everything for the long days ahead.

He smiles at her even when they are on the run for their lives. Because they are together.
Love the shot of their hands. It's him waiting for her to put her hand in his now. And that little smile. It's relief and "aw, it's ES.".

They need to be together - not just because their feelings transcend love and are also utter trust and companionship and unison. But because neither can be happy without the other and, especially CY - he's never had happiness before, never.

but he tells her "I believe it because it's you."
Yes, every. time. Happy sigh. And I loved the cupping his face scene! Lovelove. And when she asked him to hold her, no hesitation. No nothing. Just so natural that he's going to do it.

Ummm, please tell me I am not the only one who found this sexy as hell
Uh... not really coz I looove that as well. It's just such a simple and sweet gesture but kinda hot. Weird, huh? Lol. The way he was looking up at her. Awwww. These two can do no wrong.

Also, when she matter-of-factly refers to him as 'my man' eeeeee!
Did she really? Ack! Hee. I love that she reverse-psychologied him accusing him of wanting to get rid of her soon. Maybe it's what she's feeling deep down as well. That he's not asking her to stay. I mean, she knows the dangers, but still, can he let her go just like that? It's okay for them to be apart? And CY's all tongue-tied. If we're keeping score as to who wins most arguments: ES- 789384723828; CY- 0. ES has changed so much. She's not afraid to die anymore. Any reincarnation of ES rocks.

Lol. Did you notice ES called LC "Aunt" as well? Hee. It's funny how LC shouted over them coz she knows how their arguments go. Lol. ES's all "I minored in psychology". Lol. And CY's all "How can you know him?!"

This is such a sweet scene. I love the hair touching, the tremendous relief. Just gah. I tend to rewatch Episode 20 everytime I feel like it. Lol.

I kinda felt bad for KC. And when ES mouthed "I'm sorry" to him? Aw. Kinda missed their times together. Haha.

Ohgod, the hand-holding. Someone made a gif out of it. http://tieba.baidu.com/p/1928117693 (http://tieba.baidu.com/p/1928117693) And I can't stop staring at it. The way his hand brushed hers first, the way his fingers moved to clasp her hand in his, the way they held on so tight. God. No words are needed between them. They are just beautiful. I was already crying by this point and then GM and NG. Gah.

I love how he stands there for a second with that little smile on his face looking at ES. Hee.

And I hope this means there is peace in his future - a respite from blood and killing. Please please please.

This gives me hope that he goes back with ES to modern world. Wishful thinking, I know. Babies need to be together.

I really really really love the Woodalchi boys. Lol. Shipper central. Love that they are all apprehensive about CY's possible reaction to what he will find in his room. :P Did you notice they quickly closed the door on them? Lol. And when they scattered away when CY bust the doors open again. Lol. So cute!

Makes me wonder why she didn't move in ages ago? Lol. Ohgod, can we get roomie hijinks and ES with the Woodalchi boys? Teaching them her magic words? And then CY will be all jealous? Yesyes. Lol. I can't express my love for the writer making ES a Woodalchi. Lol. Notice how there's a slight change in CY's face when ES starts mentioning about the lack of a women's dorm in Woodalchi headquarters? And so she was planning on staying with him. Hee. CY chased away the gossips when she started mentioning about sleeping arrangements. And then he starts backing her up... Mmmm... They can share a bed, no need for setting up chairs! Safest place is beside CY right? Lol. When he asked, "Coz I'm the general?" you know he's asking, "Is that all? Just coz I'm the general so I need to stay here, or is it coz I'm your man?" Hee. Lol. And when he asked "Here?" How can one word mean so much between them?? How can one word be that hot? Lol. And that little smile of his. Man. Can we have CY lose control now? Thanks. And can't help it. LMH and KHS are both gorgeous.

he is about two seconds from tearing the armor from her and I am 100% certain there will be some sexy sexy sexy times going on right after the credits.

God, I know we can only count on our imaginations for that scene. OR those scenes. Lol. But have you seen the BTS for this scene? LMH helped KHS out of her armor. So technically, something happened after the credits? Lol.

But at least we get roomies hijinks? There better be! Better not let CY wuss out on us and he's going to give his room to ES. Without him in it. Boo. But with 4 episodes left, I fear there is no time for that? But there must be!

By far your recap, screencaps and contributors' comments are the best. I have never enjoyed reading comments "based on your recap" so much before. The readers' imagination and the dedication to Faith and our OTPs are phenomenal. OMG!, I was like "yep, right on the nickle with that comment". Can anyone else imagine themselves as Eun Soo with Min Ho as their CY? That's what great dramas do, make you want to be one of the characters because we feel what they are feeling. Gongmin/Noguk and CY/ES are tied for best OTP of 2012

Hi, dangermousie! I've been waiting for your "Faith" recap of this week's episodes, and I'm very glad you posted it today. :) I love seeing your thoughts about my beloved ImJa couple (and the caps!).

There's one thing, however, which I've interpreted differently than you: Choi Young's new-found hesitancy as a warrior.
First, where his mind is at: I think he's feeling guilty for the deaths of his 24 Woodalchi because he wasted time sitting in prison after he stopped ES's wedding. He feels that because, when push comes to shove, he'll always put ES's safety first, he cannot serve his king properly as his Woodalchi Daejang. Also, ES's formerly expressed repulsion for killing is greatly influencing CY's current aversion for spilling blood.

But here's the thing: ES was disgusted before at him shedding all that blood because she didn't know better. She's a modern Seoul girl, so what did she know of the realities of surviving in Goryeo? Well, now she knows: amidst such political unrest, and in the case of a King's bodyguard like CY, it's kill or be killed. She knows that CY is someone who only kills in self-defense (or to protect other people). And she isn't disgusted anymore at him having to kill for those reasons (as you also pointed out, looking out the window at night and seeing CY win the fight, she only feels relief).
Moreover, during the conversation when she convinces CY to return to the palace, she's actually telling him that she doesn't want him to stop being a warrior and leave the King because of her. She understands that being a warrior is what he's always been -- the one way he knows how to live his life. And she accepts that now.

"He offers to preemptively kill their enemies so she'd be safe but she doesn't want to, because she doesn't want him killing if he doesn't have to."
Actually, I think the part that she objected most to was that, for that preemptive strike, CY would have had to resign his office and leave the King. Thus she vetoed the plan.

"The scene where he discusses if his sword is getting to heavy - i.e., he's killed too many (and finds out his master started feeling like this before his death. I think than can absolve him of the guilt over that death?) And I hope this means there is peace in his future - a respite from blood and killing."
Finding a respite from blood and killing is just not in the cards for CY -- first according to history, and second also in the dramaverse, for consistency's sake. You see, in "Faith", too, he's just not a man who can leave the palace and become a fisherman and just stand still. No, CY has to protect the king, so he has to be a warrior. And as a warrior of that time, if he wants to survive, he shouldn't have to hesitate because of where his sword may fall in battle.

CY isn't a modern man; he's a product of his time and a Goryeo warrior. And ES has come to accept this (as I already mentioned). Most importantly, now that CY himself had lost his warrior heart, ES actively steps in to help him regain it.

Here's the thing: that final scene in episode 20. Well, of course we all got heart palpitations from seeing CY backing ES against the wall and then smiling that sexy smile at her. But according to a Korean insider article, this scene isn't foreplay (darn it!), but actually about this:
CY is unsure whether to continue as the Woodalchi Daejang. So ES becomes a Woodalchi Soldier and stresses the fact that she intends to stay/hide in the Daejang's room. CY asks: So should I be here? And she answers: Since this is the Daejang's room and you are the Daejang. In order words, she's giving him a reason/a helpful nudge to return as the Woodalchi Daejang and protect her & be with her in that capacity. So he smiles at that point not because he's about to pounce on her (unfortunately) but because he gets what she's doing here. (BTW, in the BTS the director is yelling "cut" immediately after, so that scene really won't segue into a kiss. Sigh.)

I can see how can interpret everything you refer to in your post differently than I did except for the final scene - you can get a number of things out of that final scene, but if that is what they wanted to convey (what they say in the article), the director should be fired (which he should have been a while back) because there is NO way that comes across.

Re: sword getting heavy. I know historically CY battles enemies into his old age but they really do need to address the weary at killing/sword heavy thing - the show (rightly) does not glorify the lifestyle where you have to kill as often as you eat, and even if ES has reconciled herself to him being a warrior, this still doesn't solve CY's feeling - defending GM and ES (who clearly can deal with him killing in defense if not in anticipation) is clearly not enough - hopefully something else will be.

dangermousie,

Re: the director should be fired
That's just what I've been thinking for a long time. Or rather, the one who should be thrown out on his butt is not the "legendary" Kim Jong Hak (the one who's supposed to be the director), but the unknown Shin Yong Hwi (the 2nd director and the one who, I strongly suspect, is actually doing most of the filming on "Faith" and is thus responsible for all the crappy choices made in terms of directing and editing).

Re: the final scene
I looked my source up for you. Credit for this info goes to icesiren@soompi (the "Faith" thread).

"So I was reading this article, which highlighted the deeper romance between CY/ES that hit a peak in episode 20. And they had an interesting take on the smile CY gave at the end to ES-Woodalchi. I know us perverts thought: hey - CY is smiling 'cause he's finally got his woman in his man-cave and expects hot times to come a-rolling. But the article offered a different perspective that I, for one in all my pervy splendor, completely didn't consider: "궁에 남아 호위대장으로서의 최영 곁을 지키겠다는 은수, 그런 그녀의 마음을 헤아린 최영의 화답으로 가까이 눈을 맞추고 미소 짓는 두 사람의 엔딩 장면"

Basically they describe the ending shot as one in which CY fully appreciates the reason behind ES making it a point to come stay with him at Woodalchi headquarters: she wants him to remain in the palace as the general of the bodyguards and wants to protect him. [remember how he offered the option to quit all his positions and go hunt some Bad People down to protect her?] Hence the smile he gives her. This absolutely didn't occur to me because I was so preoccupied with just the thought of her co-habbing with CY. She came up with this solution to give CY back the ground he lost during his crisis of faith in himself - now he HAS to be the Wooldachi Daejang again because his woman is going to stay in the Daejang room with him, as a Wooldachi. Ingenious, I'd say. ES gave CY a purpose AND some titillation, all in one swoop.
Smart girl. I gotta give ES props. She had her "A" Game on today. Rock on, smartypants. Rock on."

Re: sword getting heavy
I agree with you about it being a good thing that "Faith" doesn't glorify the warrior lifestyle, with all the bloodshed that goes with it.
With that said, however, I personally have absolutely no issue with CY continuing on as the warrior he has always been. He has a strong core of honor and morality and he has never killed people just for the heck of it. That he nevertheless has to go on killing people (in self-defense or in the service of his country) is perfectly fine with me. Besides -- sorry if I sound bloodthirsty :( --, but there really are some people that need killing. Like that pond scum DHG. And that Yuan envoy's assassin -- CY should have definitely not spared that one since I have a bad feeling that he'll have to deal with that assassin again in the future.

I sadly have to agree that after calming down my wild imagination, if you think logically (and I read some PDs comments as well) all ES has been doing is to keep him on track of being the general and serving his country. Since he chooses to put her first all the time, she figured out this is the best way to keep direct him. So, the explanation of her staying with him as Wudalchi to keep him in that position, so that he does not have to be at two places at the same time is quite plausible.

Re: sword. Well, you can still be a general (let alone some other peaceful court position) without having yourself to fight and kill daily. I hope that is what happens.

Oh no, now I am paranoid about the assassin.

Yes he did but - and this is a big BUT - in most kdramas when you end an ep with such a scene/cliff hanger, the next ep opens with almost the same scene slightly differently shot. Most of the time the last scene is elaborated with one or two more lines/shot from a different angle etc. and continues from there and we do not know if the continuation for that shot had not already been shot and that little scene is just there to tease us. I think it will start with the backing into the wall and then continues with a cut and them on a bed sleeping, side by side, implying they shared a bed (and had sex).

scottishlass,
I really like your thinking :D, and obviously I wouldn't object to seeing another kiss scene (or even more) with CY & ES. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
I strongly doubt, however, that things between the Imja couple will progress as far as sleeping together; I fear that CY is too much a traditional, morally upright boy as to go for premarital sex. Especially since he can't marry his beloved afterwards (since she still plans on leaving him).

Well, in sageuks even stranger things have happened (thinking of TPM where they married despite him wanting to off her father and her knowing it)
I think the directing very much established that they are intimate (on what level is to anyone's imagination) and the way they are acting now they are acting like lifemates whether they celebrated a wedding or not. Considering the conventions of Goryeo times their constant touching in public indicates that to the others (who all ship them even the baddies) they are a couple. Think of the shocked expression of Jang Bin when she did CPR to Young ... from that moment onward almost everyone who knew about this treated them as a couple.

I agree with you that CY is a very traditional man, but with ES he also throws a lot of his beliefs overboard. If he was so keen on traditions and keeping countenance and abiding to rules he wouldn't initiate a lot of the touching now and he would have come up with a different route to bomb the wedding between ES and DH.

Yes, there behavior is super intimate by sageuk's standards. The way they act indicative of them being a couple, and I'm pretty sure Young is not an idiot and knows how it looks.

First of all, thank you for the effort with the commented pictures. Unfortunately I don't have options to check the English sub, and the Hungarian one is always a bit late, so your posts help me to understand the story more. ^^

And to this topic. It's a bit embarrassing, but as the subs are late, and I'm curious and watching the new episodes in raw. And there was that part where they are running away, and resting by that tree, right? It might be just me, but the way they say Heaven's door in Korean sounds to me a bit like honeymoon. And then my fantasy goes on the run, and what I imaged is:
The pair is on the run. To comfort CY while they rest she gives a really optimistic view of their escape, she tells him about the future phrase honeymoon, and how their trip though the country side could be interpret as one. And then I see them get into an inn, drinking, CY's protecting instincts kicking in, and the trust of ES... and someone everything falls into place. X3
