Bosslady appoints Seung Hoon (who is getting so pale and whiny, he's beginning to resemble a Twilight vampire) as their producer. That is going to go well. Also, SH, making their lives miserable because a girl didn't like you back, is beyond pathetic. Ugh, go die in a corner, creep.

I love that Soo Ah seems to have rediscovered her drawing...

I love how happy a text from Ji Hyuk makes her (that is all you need to do, dude. It's OK if you can't show, but then send your excuses and love. Nobody loves being taken for granted).

The recording session from hell, i.e., SH being a bastard. You can't damp the sexy, loser! :P

Hyun Soo and his sick sister, who needs some sort of an expensive surgery. I love how his sister being sick has been alluded to before with good foundation (remember, he almost missed the peformance in ep 6). Also, it explains so much of his stress, and also does make his loyalty more remarkable - he went along with not signing back in ep 7 despite this. (And also explains why he works so hard to make the band a success).

This starts out cute and then goes downhill. First, fans start noticing him with a girl (and I love both that SA wants to not hold hands for his sake and that Ji Hyuk wants to hold hands anyway. Btw, Korean entertainment system is insane). And then JH jumps to conclusions, namely that the friend SA went out with is Seung Hoon. Talk to her, idiot, don't go off in a sulk! Guys.

Umm, and somebody snaps a pic of them together. Not good.

Oh, this was painful. Wooo Kyung shows up, pretty drunk and so proud of her new hairdresser's license (btw, I am pretty sure she wouldn't have showed up if she wasn't drunk). And just see how Do Il lights up for her - this is the one you should date, dummy! The hottie you are closest to and talk the most to! Gaaaaah. Ji Hyuk is already in a horrible mood but also he clearly decided he needs to be as blunt as possible so WK won't carry on the torch. And he's being pretty cutting, and I don't blame him, but oh, I feel horrible for poor WK and even worse for Do Il, who stands there, watching his best friend brutally reject the girl whose heart he'd give anything for. I did love when he finally blew at Ji Hyuk! EEEE!!!!!! Especially from quiet Do Il, this is huge (and I bet that is what made JH realize his friend likes WK).

Do Il walks off, and bumps into some jerks, who basically try to pick a fight because they are jerks with no sense of self-preservation, despite his politeness, until he loses it. Seeing our normally laid-back, in-control drummer almost go feral on them (when he grabbed that one guy and hissed at him that if his face wasn't on TV, the dude would be dead) was awesome.

The cutest thing in existence. Soo Ah's friend wants her to get Ji Hyuk's autograph and loudly proclaims if Soo Ah gets it, she will treat Soo Ah to another evening out, like yesterday. Guess which woobie's ears perk up at that. Heeeeee. How are they so adorable with their smiles, how?

Cutest scene in the entire drama! And a callback to the fact that he never wanted to share his lollipops. I love the way their hands touch in secret and he passes her a lollipop, I love their grins, I love how adorable that is. It also proves just how non-verbal Ji Hyuk is - so incalculably better with gestures than words.

Aww, the boys make up. And is it me, or did Ji Hyuk pretty much give his blessing to Do Il, who is adorably worried whether he will be enough (oh, trust me, you are more than enough). Also, JH sees Woo Kyung as a mom, so yeah, I'd say her hopes are pretty dead on that front, unless this is a much more twisted drama than it appears to be.

I think I am pretty much off Yerim/Hyun Soo ship. It doesn't appear as if it will happen and, more importantly, he doesn't appear interested in her in the least. Just please don't hook her with Ha Jin because they have zero chemistry and his character mildly annoys me unless he is interacting with Kyung Jong. On a less shippy note, I loved that despite his need for money/success, Hyun Soo flatly turned down a duet because he'll sing only as a member of Eye Candy.

Money worries over his sister's surgery. Poor guy.

So, of course, he's in an awful mood, especially since his bandmates are placing obstacles to the single being released because they hate Seung Hoon and he needs the money now. And he needs something to lash out at. The thing is, they don't know that his sister is sick or that he's turned down a solo career for their sake, so all they see is Hyun Soo always grumping. Oh boys, just talk!

I loved Ji Hyuk telling Seung Hoon off.

First off, I loathe Bosslady. Leaving that aside, I wonder what the document was she gave Ji Hyuk. He did not look happy, to say the least.

Scummy Seung Hoon playing games - inviting Soo Ah for the recording (she doesn't know it's Ji Hyuk's) so as to try to create drama in their relationship. Do you really think it's going to make her love you, moron? Ji Hyuk storms off and I love that Soo Ah tells Seung Hoon that she knows why SH invited her and she is disappointed in him and walks off. I love the heroine who doesn't play games, won't be manipulated, and tells it like it is to all the people in her life.

But I loved even more her confrontation with Ji Hyuk. Where she finally reads him the riot act for being a bad boyfriend and not calling/texting, standing her up, etc. And tells him Seung Hoon is only a friend, but at least he knows the truth of SA/JH, which is more than what she can say for JH's friends and asks him when he will tell his friends, telling him to 'get things clear' himself and not just say the same to her. I LOVE HER!!!! I also love that Ji Hyuk snaps out of his fit asap because he recognizes the justice of her words and tells her he will tell his friends asap.

Press conference (I love that Hyun Soo says he won't go solo). They think the worst thing is someone trying to ask about Do Il's mob dad.

Little do they know. Some scummy tabloid dude gets out a snapshot of Ji Hyuk coming out of Soo Ah's house and asks him if he lives with her.

That can totally kill the band because Koreans are totally psycho about how they want the romantic lives of their celebs to be (nonexistent) and also because cohabiting in high school is viewed as extra bad. What will Ji Hyuk say? My money is on admitting it, probably egged on by the fact that he knows Soo Ah is unhappy he hadn't told his friends and that he promised her. Only - I am sure she just wanted his friends to know, not for everyone to do so and ruin his career. Plus - sure, he lives with her, but once that is out, nobody will ever let him clarify it's not in a hotbed of sin (though, honestly, even if it was, who the hell cares? Korean entertainment is insane).

Bring on ep 13 and ANGST!

I actually wrote speculations worth a small novel based on ep 12 and the preview in my last post. LOL!

First off, I can almost bet on the fact that The Witch has something to do with the JH/SA relationship leaking out. Even SH was wondering about it. She clearly has some sort of agenda, I just haven't been able to figure out what. The paper she gave JH could well be the news about the leak as JH said he'd take responsibility and then he didn't seem the least bit surprised when the reporter brought the thing up. He just looked grim and determined. It's like he was expecting it.

I'm sure he'll admit to dating SA but the thing is, they are not cohabiting. So it would be kinda mad to say 'yes' to that. He lives with the other guys and only occasionally spends time with SA. Yes, it's his room but does the fact the she lives there make it cohabiting? Oh well, Korean netziens are crazy enough to think so, I suppose.

Gah, it's not really money or girls (though both have an impact) that breaks the band in this case but mostly a bad case of noncommunication. Just goes to show how not talking can kill any kind of relationship.

The next few episodes are going to be wall to wall angst but I'm sure they'll sort it out somehow in the end. That's what I choose to believe anyway. :)

I don't think their boss leaked out the info - why would she? It means her potential cash cow is dead.

I am sure it will end happily - it's a fluffy if a bit gritty and indie teen drama not a sageuk :)

Well, she did make it quite clear that she doesn't really care about them other than as a commodity. She was ready to toss them aside as soon as they no longer were useful. Besides, she never wanted the whole band anyway, just Ji Hyuk and Hyun Soo so now she got rid of everyone else save HS. Unless the deal JH made with her somehow ment that she'd have him too in some capasity, e.g. contracted songwriter or something similar. To churn out songs for order would be one kind of hell for a person like JH. So, it could have been her doing. Well, we'll see I suppose. :)

Yup, like you said it's quite gritty but not a sageuk and I can't really see them going all out in angst either.

Oh, and that YR/HS duet is rather sweet, isn't it? I'm glad you got your wish after all. ;P

Actually, I think the show makes it fairly clear that it was that reporter who'd stalked Ji Hyuk to his place. It occurred shortly after he talked to the first producer who told him to dig up stuff.

But... They don't in fact live together! It's his place, yes. And she lives there, yes. But he's living at the dorm now. And honestly how they jumped to that conclusion is beyond me. Couldn't it just have been one person visitting another? It's not like they came out of a hotel room together.
U know it's not girls or money that'd ruin a band. It's the damn press. I still think they don't need to go the big idol agency route. It guarantees fast cash and fast fame but perhaps they should ask themselves at what costs. I wouldn't sell my soul to the devil if I were them.

I'm sorta hoping that in the end they realise that it's not necessary to go mainstream and loose themselves in the process. Being an indie band is more their thing. May not be as lucrative but at least they'd be free from manufactured conflicts and idiotic restraints. And their music is their own, to present and perform. Somehow I feel that if Hyun Soo was free from pressing money troubles they'd all flip a finger to The Witch et al.

They probably knew his pre-fame address though.

I agree, they should just go with an indie label. Not as much money but still decent pay, and no need to be fakes and hounded by tabloids.

It just occurred to me that there isn't many more episodes left for this addictive show and really what am I goinng to do about my routine of watching the show, reading drambeans recap and then stalking your posts??? It is depressing me that I get this obsessed with these characters that I am genuinely upset that I won't continue to follow their lives forever. LOL.

Anyway another brilliant episode and while the bromance was great it was the candy passing, heart racing, hallway flirting scene that had me swoooooning long after the episode ended. High school secret romance never looked this good. I was wondering why people are hating on Su-Ah on certain sites, bec I think she is a refreshingly real and straight forward character so not sure if this stems from jealousy or do people actually find her a drab charcter for some reason...weird.

Alright this has been going on and on in my head but now I know why I find Jh-Sa sooo damn addictive. They remind me of Michael and Sara from prison break! The same scret romance, the hot gazes and sweet hand touches......swooon. So much angst that ship had me obsessed. It was the bormance there as well that was at the heart of Prison break but the romance was equally delicious. Not sure if you have already seen the show Ms. Mousie but here is a shipper MV for Michael and Sara..

And one of my fav quotes,I couldn't find this darn scene on youtube so here is the dialogue but it was so ...sigh
ep 13
Michael: Well I'm grateful.
Michael: You ever think, in another life...
Sara: I won't be that woman, Michael.
Michael: I wasn't asking you to be. But it is something to wonder about. What if?
Michael: Anyway, just wanted to make sure it was said.
Sara: Why do I feel like you're saying goodbye to me?

lol...alright rant over.

Thanks for a wonderful post, as always!

Prison Break wasn't the show for me (anything with prisons or convicts is an automatic out) but they do sound very cool!

oh I do recommend the show Ms. mousie, bec I wrote it off but then I came across this one scene on t.v where this hot convict Michael (an undercover engineer) saves the prison doctor during the riots and just the intense eye locks btw the two literally made me wanna watch the show even though I did not know what the show was about. lol.

Man Ji Hyuk was pissing me off this episode. Ugh such a teenage boy. but i give the drama props for writing him realistically and not as a drama lead dreamboat. that said he needs to step it up or leave her alone and stop taking her for granted! I'm glad Soo Ah is doing her art again, she really does seem talented and I want her to find something she likes and is passionate about. I was so happy for a second when I thought her goofy friend would be in strawberry fields and we'd finally have a girl musician but alas lol. I kind of like Maro but the fact that he hangs out with an abusive jerk like pyo joo kind of docks him a few points. if only pyo joo could die in an explosion of some kind...
anyway I looooved Do il standing up to Ji Hyuk for being a jerk to Woo Kyung even though I get he was probably fed up with her to high heaven and I too wish she would catch a hint but honestly is it so hard to just be happy for her accomplishment? i mean he said he cares about her as a family but he was being pretty cold. i guess he just wasnt in the mood to interact with her atm? I wish Do il would step it up and show Woo Kyung he cares, he's just kind of silently pining for her and he's got to show more interest if he wants her to see him that way. I know he's the quiet reserved type but i keep wanting him to take a bit more initiative.
I was kind of with mixed feelings on hyun soo but i didnt realize how serious his sister's condition was I feel really bad for him now. I think he's really on a different level from his friends because of his family situation. I dunno I hope they can all work it out without a fracture in the band but i forsee trouble ahead. I kind of wish they didnt introduce ye rim/hyun soo for it to go nowhere but i suspect this is probably gonna lead to ha jin and hyun soo having a problem with each other since Ha Jin likes Ye Rim but she likes Hyun Soo. it'll be a really stupid reason to fight tho so i am already rolling my eyes in advance. I really hope the guys eventually come to the conclusion that idol life isnt for them and they decide to join an indie label. that would mean they still get to play for people and do well without sacrificing their souls. although how this will work for hyun soo i dont know....we shall see.

I think the friend might be in the (boring boring) Strawberry Fields eventually, you never know - this scene would have had little point otherwise. We do have a girl musician though - Ye Rim.

I understand JH's treatment of WK. You have to be cruel to be kind. She clearly doesn't get hints or even a full-blown 'nope.' One nice bit when she's still stuck on him, and the whole cycle of hope and pestering starts again. (Past experience on my part, also).

I think HS/YR will go somewhere :)

The boys need to do an indie label, not this totally-unsuited PR machine.

I think JH got swept away and was being a teen boy, but after SA's awesome speech, he seems to have got his act back together. Which is pretty good.

I guess Woo Kyung's behavior just frustrates me cause its so different from how i would handle the situation. then again i'm the type of person to like someone and actively work to make it seem like i don't. its just not my style to wear my heart on my sleeve. so her being so openly besotted and needy even in the face of such indifference is kind of painful for me to watch.

Ye Rim has a gorgeous voice and is very talented but she doesnt play an instrument therefore she is not a musician but she is a recording artist/singer. it would just be nice of goofy friend of Su Ah had more to her existence than just being the exposition fairy.
I am not so sure Ji Hyuk is completely on the level now that she told him off but I hope he is at least getting there. we'll see next week (assuming its not pushed off because of all the delays in scheduling thanks to that strike)

Just saw Ep 13 and Woo Kyung is on my list of most loathsome rejectees. Her presumptuousness, wow. Do Il is way too good for her.

And Ha Jin too. Frankly, I'd be happy to see Eye Candy break up, drop Ha Jin, who's done the least to help the band, has actually hurt it at their debut with his attitude, and yet acts so high and mighty.

End of 13 is good stuff. Noble idiocy for once makes absolute sense.

All I can say is that this drama works because its protagonists are bunch of high school teenage boys. Who, for all their badassery, are still kids and naive to the world. Who, being boys, haven't learned good communication skills. Sigh. Hyun Soo and Ji Hyuk. Those two break my heart.

Actually I feel like a traitor..Byung Hee was my favorite! :(
I love how the guys have all become their own now. While watching the 1st 2 or three episodes I only really cared about JH and BH now I am enjoying all of them. I like all their different personalities! I really did not think I would like this show! I only watched it because I recognized the actor who is playing JH from Lie to Me and I usually like music based shows.

Yeah, when BH was on, he overshadowed everyone...I'd love an AU drama about him
