I am in the middle of episode 19 of AGD but just had to pause to scream about the perfection that is Yoon/Maeri!

When he buys her shoes and puts them on her! And when he kneels (kneels!!!) to Tae San, asking for Maeri and promising to make her happy and telling him that he will always live in debt. OMFG my heart!

Ummm, I ship Yoon/Maeri harder than I do Do Jon/Yi Soo even.

I have just finished the very last minute of A Gentleman's Dignity - I am grinning, warm and giddy, my happiness undercut only by the knowledge we won't see the gang again. I could happily watch them paint walls or talk over soju for 90 episodes more.

I don't know if it was a perfect drama, but it was my perfect drama. It was funny, moving, sharply drawn, with great dialogues, characters, acting, romances, friendships and oddly real.

Oh, the friendships! Between the men and the ladies and the mix and everything.

It also gave me a perfect main couple, who were both quirky and flawed, yet wonderful. They made me want to know them. And the chemistry! They were pitch-perfect from the beginning to end. That last scene with them talking in bed - oooof, straight in the heart, with its quiet perfect understanding and wonderment and joy.

It also gave me one of my all-time favorite secondary OTPs in Yoon/Maeri, who just made so much sense together despite the age difference and his past grief and her impulsiveness and just - I want a whole drama about them. I rewatched their scenes too much to count. I loved them almost more than the main couple. I am so happy they got their hard-earned happiness. I need them to make lawyer bag-making babies...

I am going to try to do a more coherent post (I have over a 1000 caps to sort through, if nothing else), but for now I am too happy and emo and overwhelmed...So for now, I just leave you with this:

(Yes, I love Tae San/Sera too, but I don't have good caps for them).

I think this season is literally untenable for me.

Here is what I want to follow:

Mon/Tues - Faith
Tues - Answer Me 1997
Wed/Thurs - Bridal Mask
Wed/Thurs - Arang and the Magistrate
Sat/Sun - Five Fingers
Sat/Sun - May Queen

That is 11+ hours of TV a week (probably closer to 13, seeing that a lot of eps are 1:10). Considering I have a family, job, other hobbies, and need to sleep, this is untenable. (
I used to follow 5 dramas at a time - Big, Bridal Mask, Dr. Jin, I Need Romance 2012, A Gentleman's Dignity, but not for long before they got modified to a more manageable 3. Plus, Bg and Dr Jin were ff-central).

Yet, how to cut it?

Come hell or high water, Gaksital is staying in - I obsessed over 20 eps, I am unlikely to ditch the last 8.
I am keeping both Arang and Faith unless either unexpectedly sucks. (Please don't!)
I could probably wait to finish AM1997 until it's done, only it's the drama with the smallest time commitment (an hour a week) and if I leave it out, I am left with three heavy-duty period dramas, which might be a bit much - one needs variety.

That leaves May Queen and Five Fingers. Between the two of them, I am more likely to keep FF, as Joo Ji Hoon is back and I love makjang, yet MQ looks good and oddly Giant-like.

What to do, what to do?

I think I might stable both the weekend dramas until Bridal Mask (and possibly AM1997) end in a few weeks - there is a good chance they might have barely just gotten out of kid portions then, and I always skim those anyway.

Dilemmas...

So, likely to keep, from most to least:

1. Bridal Mask
2. Faith
2. Arang and the Magistrate
4. Answer Me 1997
5. Five Fingers
6. May Queen.
